Rule #1 Investing Phil Town – How To Use 3 Tools? I’ve looked into the use of the tools and sometimes they do work and other times they dont. They definitely don’t help me get the highest return I could.

For example if I look at AAPL it says to get in at Feb 5th @ 457.84 but then it says to get out at February 20th @448.85 which is a loss of money. I’m using the settings he wants us to use in his book MACD (8,17,9) , Slow Stochastics (14, 5) and SMA (10).

Is there something I’m doing wrong?
I’ve done this with other stocks too so its not a one case scenario

Stock’s Open Price Differs From Open Price Listed In Historical Quote? I’ve noticed at the end of a trading day, a stock’s open price that is listed on the summary quote page is often different from the open price listed on the historical prices page. Any idea why and which price is most accurate? Example: at the the close of the 4/12/13 trading day, the summary quote page shows that AAPL opened at $434.00 but the historical quote page for 4/12/13 shows AAPL opened at $434.15

Good Corporations To Invest In? I have invested about 34 of my 100 thousand. I want to invest the other 66. What companies will yield successful dividends? What companies should I stay away from? Any ideas for companies that will be successful in fiscal period 2?

    • Curator says:

It’s not a bad idea to invest in stock but be careful what companies you are investing in. Golden rule No. 1, avoid technology. NOT AAPL, NOT MSFT. Invest in conventional industrial, dividend paid stocks. KO, MO, JNJ, MMM, LTM, GD, just to name a few. Hi-techs are so called market darlings, they die over night.

  • Anthony says:

What Do Long-term Investors Or Hedge Funds Do When A Stock Sinks? I’m just curious to know that Warren Buffet or any hedge funds does when one of their stocks tumble? I know with AAPL, its biggest holder sold 10%. Why not sell all of AAPL? Are they not losing money?

    • Curator says:

Without an exact company name or ticker symbol or example or specifics or location, etc., there’s no way to help. Is the bank still in business? Are they part of a larger bank? Can you find this business on Google?

Find any existing public company or their ticker symbol on Yahoo Finance here:

Type in any company name or ticker symbol. I’ll us Apple; takes you here:
