I’ve noticed one way in which your mock draft doesn’t tend to follow draft typical history. Normally teams that are up near the start of the draft order are going to focus on offense. Normally that means you’re obviously starting out with QB’s. Then after that, you’re normally looking at big guys for the offensive line since they are needed to protect the money invested quarterback, allow the run and pass games to happen, get injured a descent bit during the season (so replacements are usually needed), and big ones are hard to come by so they go fast. Then you likely get one or two high quality WR’s thrown in the mix. Towards the middle or end of the draft round is where the RB’s and defensive players are usually picked up.

Most teams are first worried about the offense and getting their big men.

And for 2nd round for the Colts, I wouldn’t expect them to get a wide receiver. While the Colts did lose Garcon and Gonzalez. Gonzalez was already out most of the time injured. And the Colts picked up Avery in the free agent market as cheap speedy replacement for Garcon. With the loss of Dallas Clark, Saturday and others I’d expect them to go after a TE or a big guy for their offensive line. They’ve picked up a few big guys for the O-line from the Eagles and there are a few they picked up last year. But last year they were super weak on the O-line and the guys they picked up last year for the O-line were out most of the year injured. And I’d think they want one or two guys better than the guys they picked up in free agency. And with the addition of Luck, they’ll want some big guys on the O-line to protect him.

For the 3rd round, defense could be on their mind since they will be working on switching to a 3-4 defense. They may also look at a RB around this stage. They did lose Joseph Addai so they might want to replace him, but Delone Carter and Donald Brown both kinda stepped up last year some.

If the Colts grab a WR, I’d think it’d likely be around the 4th round.

Big Time Trade Offer…how Does It Sound? My team:

    QB- Big Ben, Palmer
WR- AJ Green, Miles Austin, Robinson, A Brown, Damian Williams,
RB- Gore, Wells, Blount, Greene, Hunter

    His team:

    QB- Brady, Freeman
WR- J Nelson, Boldin, D Jackson, S Holmes, Breaston, M Jenkins
    RB- Forte, Mendenhall, Starks,

I was going to offer Austin, Gore, Hunter(handcuff), and his choice of Greene or Wells for Mendenhall, Boldin and Jackson. Thoughts?
PS…I need results NOW.- I’m 4-7 and need to win out so I can’t deal with hurt players, meanwhile he has clinched a playoff spot

    • Curator says:

Austin, Gore and Hunter for Wells, Mendenhall, Boldin and Jackson seems to be appealing. It would certainly help you short term, seeing as Austin is sitting out and Gore has a lingering knee issue. Greene recently got hurt and Wells stays injured, but I trust wells more to have a potential huge fantasy game. Desean showed signs of life this week, but be cautious with VY, and Vick at this point, at QB. Overall I say pull the trigger, if you need short term help, this is as good as it can get.

Is This A Fair Trade…need Help? After a trade I’m working on my team could look like this:

    QB: Big Ben, Fitzpatrick
WR: Austin, AJ Green, Heyward Bey, Rice, Washington
RB: Gore, Green Ellis, D Thomas, Wells, Blount
    TE: Hernandez

    His team:

    QB: Brady, Freeman
WR: Boldin, D Jackson, Jenkins, Breaston, Holmes, J Nelson
    RB: Forte, Mendenhall, Spiller, Starks
    TE: Gonzalez, Shiancoe

I was going to offer Wells, Washington, and Rice for Breaston and Jackson. If that’s not fair what should I do to get Breaston or Jackson or both?

    • Curator says:

are you trying to tell me youd rather have breaston/jackson starting than aj/austin?

      breaston – #43wr (6.5 pts/gm)
      jackson – #16wr (9.3 pts/gm)

      austin – #18 (9.2)
      green – #9 (11.2)

thats two top 10 wrs (austin is averaging 13.75 when he plays…that would make him the #3 wr) for a boom or bust wr (jackson) and a #2 wr (breaston)….doesnt make much sense to me

and dont trade beanie. not only is he a td machine (6 tds in 6 games) hes averaging more points than bge (beanie-13 bge-11.3). hes hurt now but its not serious.

      your lineup….
      qb big ben
      rb gore
      rb bge (wells/blount when healthy)
flex bey (bge/blount when all are healthy)
      wr austin
      wr aj

that leave you with fitz, rice, washington, and thomas to trade. realistically that leaves you with fitz. once blount and wells are healthy i would definitely try and trade wells, blount, or bge…no reason having talent sitting on the bench

Which Two WRs To Start Week 2 – PPR League? Dez Bryant (day to day with leg injury)
    David Nelson
    AJ Green
    Donald Driver
    Jacoby Ford

    On waivers:

    Michael Jenkins
    Anthony Armstrong
Malcolm Floyd (just dropped to pick up Nelson)
    Emmanuel Sanders

    Which two should I start?

    • Curator says:

LOL…I love how none of these guys know who David Nelson is, and they keep assuming you got the name wrong. That being said…I would go with Dez Bryant (assuming he’s good to go of course) and David Nelson. Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing awesome right now, and it looks like Nelson could become one of his favorite targets. He may not be a great play this week, but I think you can count on at least 50 yards with the potential for more. TDs are hard to predict. Good luck.
