A Picture Of Attachment Parenting Gone Too Far?

Thu, 10 May 2012 15:08:49 -0700 Attachment parenting seems like a good idea to me. I've never tried it. I also never breastfed my baby standing up. That is, while my child is standing up — on a chair. http://www.forbes.com/sites/lizadonnelly/2012/05/10/a-picture-of-attachment-parenting-gone-too-far/?feed=rss_home

Intimacy Issue I Need Help!!? So i need any real life examples of avoidance attachment, disorganized attachment and ambivalence attachment. This is for my psychology class i would really appreciate it. Please and thank you

if you don’t know what these mean:
In Ambivalent Attachment, an attached child experiences the parents’ communication as inconsistent and at times intrusive. Children who are ambivalently attached tend to be extremely suspicious of strangers. These children display considerable distress when separated from a parent or caregiver, but do not seem reassured or comforted by the return of the parent.

A child with Disorganized/Insecure Attachment shows a lack of clear attachment behavior. Their actions and responses to caregivers are often a mix of behaviors, including avoidance or resistance.

Children with Avoidant Attachment tend to avoid parents and caregivers. Avoidance often becomes pronounced after a period of absence. Children might not reject attention from a parent, but neither do they seek comfort or contact from them. As adults, those with an avoidant attachment tend to have difficulty with intimacy and close relationships.

I Feel Like A Slu*t…. The Thoughts I Cant Control.. Why????????? I am 30 yr old married for 5 yrs women…from asia where we dont chat to boys much…..

when i was 24, i start to chat with my senior in college… first he showed genuine attachment and attraction . i mean pure love … but later when i confess i like him, he started to send cheap & hot messages.. i got conscious & angry but than i just accepted it & start imagining thinking that he will marry me (i never even talked to any other boy befoer that & in our country we have se*x only after marriage) .. but he didnt intend to marry rather he was showing all my texts to his friends to make his repo that he flirt with me.. but i imagined about him everything.. i chated to him on phone whole nights & felt everything.. but he never even touched my hand..

after 2 mnths he stopped talking.. & i was like a dead without him.. i told him i will kill myself but he didnt cared & i start getting cheap messages from all college boys.. so i understood that he was joking with me & i am defamed now…

but i felt so much about him that i couldnt control my feelings & i just wanted to be with him.. than my parents beat me for doing so wrong and married me to my current hubby..

otherwise i was intelligent & had good job.. but after that incident i wanted to die out of shame & i developed hate for myself… i felt inferior compared to other grls who have patience & dignity more than me… i just throwed myself on him knowing that he is not so serious…

so my husband also didnt liked my personality as i was broken at time of marriage & he withdrew his interest & start avoiding me.. moreover my face expressions of a slut make him uncomfortable when i walk with him.. than he start flirting with other girls & dont even talk to me.. & he like to put me more down … when i start behaving little normal he again try to put me in same condition by flirting with ohte r girls .. he like it..

and even i dont respect myself… i still hate myself for feeling those dirty things in mind without marriage.. i feel so mature & unwanted & like a trash……i cant feel happiness or any normal feeling

What should I do??????? if i behave nice my husband loves me & respect me .. But for me only it is so hard to behave good.. i feel like a loser slut/…… i was so hardworkng & carer oriented before first incident (at 25 yr od age i was bank officer) .. but now i am just like illiterate women.. always thnking about why i exist.. i am dirty & bad… how to respect myself……

How Do You Use A Portable Washer/dryer Combo? We are buying a new house, and can’t afford to get a 220 hook up right now, but we are able to afford a washer/dryer combo. The house has no washer/dryer hookup, but there is a utility sink in the basement. So, when we get this washer/dryer combo, how do I hook it up? I mean, I know that you get the attachments for the sink, and let the water drain into the sink, BUT, do I have to turn the water faucets off and on? Like, do I need to turn on the faucet at the beginning of the cycle, then when it turns on the dryer cycle, do I set a timer and then run down stairs and shut off the water or does the washer/dryer unit automatically stop using the water? Do I need to turn the water off after the entire washing drying cycle is finished until I do my next load of laundry or am I able to keep the water turned on all the time and the unit just automatically pulls in the water when it needs it? I know I’m gonna probably get a lot of “Get a plumber to install your washer hook up” but once again, we can’t afford that right now. Also, what do y’all think of these types of washer/dryers? Plus, we have well water, if your able to keep the water turned on all the time, will it suck my well dry? You know how you can get a sprayer for the end of your water hose and the water doesn’t come out unless you press the nozzle but yet you keep the hose turned on?…is this kind of how this washer is going to be? HELP!!!! Don’t worry, I’ll ask my parents about this later, but I’m trying to get help else where now.

Extreme Introversion…what To Do? As the title says, I am pretty much 99% introvert. According to my parents I was talkative and outgoing as a child but I did a 180 ever since I hit my preteens. I’m 21 now.

Whilst I have the typical ‘feeling extremely drained around people” and “can go for months in isolation” traits introverts have, my main problem is this. I have no friends. I don’t mean this in an angsty, self pitying way, but I just DO NOT feel attachment towards anyone. I feel absolutely no longing to meet old highschool ‘friends’, no desire to hang out with ‘friendly aquaintances’. Absolutely no desire for a boyfriend.

I’ve actually tried very hard to go out, meet new people and make al least SOME friends, but how can I when I feel nothing? My father thinks I’m just extremely shy, but I don’t think this is the case.

Am I just a cold, unfeeling person? Is there something really wrong with me?
hmm well I admit I thought of myself as unattractive and nerdy in my teens (the fact that a fellow introvert I knew got lots of attention plainly due to her looks didn’t help much either) but doesn’t pretty much every teenager go through that self conscious phase?

This is no excuse for why I’m the way I am now.

How Much Will It Cost To Surrogate As A Lesbian Couple? I’m not entirely sure how to shorten this question, so the title isn’t probably the best it could be.

My girlfriend and I are planning on having several children in the future. This does mean in around 3 years, but I would still like to know the costs now, and possibly an estimate on how much it will cost in the near future.

We both have functional reproductive systems and eggs. We plan on both parenting these children together. Our issue (not as much hers as mine) is that we both want to be a part of the making and growing of the child. I feel that I need to either be the biological mother or the surrogate mother to feel the kind of attachment that I want to feel for my child.

I have found several sources that say that a surrogate mother usually costs around 15-25 thousand dollars. They also say that that does not include maternity clothes, doctor visits, medications, work compensation, etc. Along with the entire surrogate cost is legal fees (to make the transition of parentage as painless and by-the-rules as possible), adding another 5000 dollars. If they don’t have health insurance, you should buy them a plan, another thousand or so dollars for full-term.

What I want to know is, what would the cost be solely for the procedure, the sperm donation, and possibly for legal fees to make sure we are BOTH on the birth certificate? Thank you
