Should My Husband Have A Bachelor Party While I’m Pregnant? My husband and I eloped, so we both missed out on showers and the bachelor/bachelorette party. We’ve been married just about a year, and now I’m 15 weeks pregnant. His best friend called him today and said they are throwing him a bachelor party in Las Vegas next September…. 6 weeks before I’m suppose to give birth. The thought of being alone in a new city (we just moved) without any friends or family around and that pregnant is really scary. I feel sad that he is even CONSIDERING this party.

I’ve never met most of his friends and I’m afraid if he doesn’t go his friends will hate me, but the idea of possibly having complications or going in to labor while he is gone is terrifying!! Am I being hormonal or should I just be supportive? He is a wonderful husband and in the 3 years I’ve known him, this is really our first disagreement.

How Much Is Appropriate To Give The Bride And Groom As The Maid Of Honor? My cousin’s wedding is tonight and I am the maid of honor. I know the per plate cost for the wedding is about $35.. I’m trying to figure out how much money to give the couple. I was going to buy a gift but they had a very small registry and after her shower everything was already taken. I also have already spent about $700 on the dress, hair and make-up, shower and bachelorette party. (Oh and my wedding is in 3 weeks so I can’t go crazy!) haha

Bachelorette Party In Vancouver BC? I live in Seattle and have to throw a bachelorette party for my friend in British Columbia since her little sister is not yet 21. Her fiance will be going to a strip club so we’re really hoping to find any strip club (with male dancers) in Vancouver BC or anywhere outside of the city as well. I should mention the bride would prefer to go to a strip club and not have to rent a male stripper.

If you don’t know of any “female” strip clubs that we can go to-do you have any other suggestions for really fun clubs with VIP tables that we can go to? I would prefer suggestions better than just “going to Granville street and club hopping”. Also any suggestions on places to stay or transportation ideas? I figure using priceline and driving in would be the cheapest way.

We’re hoping to find something very COST effective as well (there will only be a dozen or less of us ladies).

    Thanks!

  • Bride/other Bridesmaids Are Hardly Planning? First thing I must say is I’m a very planned person. I live by my calender!! I work full time, I’m a part time student & I’m 6 months pregnant. My best friend is getting married in September, she has nothing planned!
She called me yesterday to see if I knew anyone who could DJ & asked I had a friend of mine’s number to ask if she could make the cake. To me this is stuff that should have been done a year ago!
have been asking the other maid of honor (2 of us) What is a good time to get together with the bride & her mom to start planning things for the the shower & bachelorette party. But no 1 seems to worry about it. I work weekends plus have my own baby shower this summer. So I’m working hard to make sure nothing over laps.

What is the best way to handle this? I don’t want my best friend to have nothing. But I can’t force some one to get it together!

There are two types of people in this world, the go getters, and the procrastinators. Your friend is the second kind. These folks do not live by the calender, and usually, there is some thing in their heads that they don’t want to do that they are putting off. LOL, hopefully it is not her whole wedding!
You are the first type, living by your calender, your watch, and I bet you have a to do list posted somewhere! LOL, good for you!

Clearly, she is not having a polished professional type of wedding, she is having a DIY wedding. A real person who will bake a cake, not a company. Somebody’s friend who can DJ. Cheaper that way.

Well, you hit the nail right on the head when you said she was leaving you to rearrange your life around her wedding so things do not overlap. That is the whole idea, she isn’t thinking of it, so that forces you to think for her!

I deal with friends like this all the time, and since Rivers is nearing retirement age, after a life of always accommodating everybody else, I am a wait and see kind of person too.

So, best friend, this is not a news flash for you, you know this is what she does. So be a best friend and continue to do this on her terms. Give her the info she asks for, and if you do not know, help her ask around. Offer to help, be specific in what tasks you will do, so you don’t get the whole wedding dumped on you.
Supply the bride with websites, like The Knot, that have how to instructions and lists of what to do.

I saw on that southern bride’s dress tv show a bride who was there to pick out bridesmaid dresses, and I watched her face. The girls tried some thing on, and walked out for her to see. Her face would light up. Then, one of the girls would say, “oh, I like that” and her face would shut down, and she would say that she hated it. It became apparent after a few tries that she wanted to pick out the dress, alone, and without interference from the girls. The saleslady figured it out, and smoothly accommodated her. All that drama, and manipulation, and diva-ness, when all she had to do is say, “y’all shut up, and let me pick this dress!” Maybe your friend has similar issues..

So, tell her once that she needs to move it along, that people just will not drop everything and make her a cake at the last minute, that things like weddings are often planned years in advance. That you are afraid she will be left with nothing, because she waited too long.
Once you have said it, than you are relieved of that duty, cross it off of your list and forget it. She can’t come back and say “why didn’t you tell me?” Because you told her.

and try to be as helpful as you can, offering phone numbers and advice is not a big time waster. Just be a good friend, a few phone numbers might be all that she needs from you.

And if you are bold and brave, you might say, “hey, you sure have put this off until the last minute, you are procrastinating more than usual, what is the matter?” You might get a tearful bride telling you all sorts of woes!

Sudden Sore Throat And Stuffy Nose. What Is It And How Do I Fix It? Yesterday I woke up fine. I felt nothing wrong. Suddenly around six that night my throat felt itchy and by nine it hurt like a Bitch!

now it’s seven in the morning and it hurts a lot and now my nose is very stuffy (more my left side) and have nasty mucous.

What is it most likely? What can I do to help reduce the symptoms and be pretty functional? I have to work all week and have my friends bachelorette party this weekend.

I prefer to stay away from antibiotics.

If A D**k Touches U, But Doesn’t Go In Its NOT Cheating? My cousins bachelorette party was this weekend. I decided to go.. My befriend is very religIous. Hes a devout Mormon buttt he gave me a “guilt free weekend pass”. He doesn’t believe in doing ANYTHING until marriage besides kissing.

I’m a recovering sex addict taking the fight one day at a time. He’s really helped me out soo much. Even though I was tempted, I didn’t do anything too wild and had an early night. I did stick around for the male stripper. I got a lap dance but that’s it. Does that count as cheating? Believe Me alotttt of other girls , including the bride (my cousin Audrey), did a lottt worse (most involving whipped cream & a mouth full *ahem* 🙂

I feel guilty. I’ve NEVER felt like this about Anythimg intimate or sexual. Did I cheat? What’s wrong with me? :c
