Runny Discharge 37 Weeks Pregnant? I thought my water broke because I felt a big “leak” down there that felt as if I were on my period and it were leaking out o my vagina (sorry tmi but its the best way I can describe it). But it was alot! Well I stuck my hand down there to see what it was and i felt extreme wetness and all over the tips of my fingers was this runny discharge that looked like extremely watered down milk. It was really watery and not sticky like regular discharge. What could that have been?? I went to the bathroom after and it took 3 wipes to clean mysel off. I then put a panty liner on and there has been a little on the panty liner, but not too much.

As labor comes closer, the discharge become thinner and more runnier. Don’t worry about it. However, do keep an eye on it. If you have to change your panty liner twice within an hour because of wetness, then i would do a smell test (gross I know but its only sure sign) and if it smell somewhat sweet or nothing at all, it may be your water that has been broken. If it has any smell but isn’t sweet, it’s mostly like just your discharge.

      Good luck and congrats!

Any Advice For A First Time Cat Owner? I live in an apartment and I live alone. It’s a small efficiency apartment. 450 sq. feet for the living room/kitchen/bedroom area and a very small bathroom.

I am more of a dog person than a cat person, but I think for my situation a cat would be a better fit. I leave for work about 7:30 and I don’t get off until 3:45, when I return home to shower change and I usually go out.

I plan on rescuing a cat from a shelter, and the cat will be spayed or neutered when I get him or her, it will be have it’s first round of shots, and I’ll have a consultation with the shelter vet.

    I have a few questions.

    1. How much food and what kind? Ideally I would like to feed the cat supermarket brand dry cat food and supplement this with a canned cat food for variety a few times a week. Okay and forgive the stupidity of this question but I don’t want to do anything to hurt the cat at all. Because of space limitations I will have to keep the cat food in the bottom of the pantry, and it is separated with a curtain. Just putting the bag on the ground is an invitation to coming home and finding cat food all over the place. I get laundry detergent from Costco in a large plastic tub. If I an empty container very well, would it ever be safe for cat food storage. Since detergent is water soluble, my educated guess is that it would be, but I don’t want to risk my pet’s health because I guessed incorrectly.

    2. Cat litter. I have already checked out litter boxes and the one I liked the best is a one with a screened bottom that allows you to shift the entire contents. I plan on keeping this i the bathroom beside the toilet. Is it safe to drop the waste in the toilet and flush it away or will this cause problems with the plumbing? Also, should I add a bit of fresh litter every time I clean it–which will be every time I check it and find droppings have been left or should I toss out the entire contents all at once and replace with fresh cat litter. Recommendations on brands would be great.

    3. Male vs. female. Any advantages or disadvantages over the sex?

    4. While kittens have a certain cuteness factor, I’m thinking an adult cat would probably be best. Is that a wrong assumption?

    5. Keeping in mind that space is a premium, what equipment is essential. I’ll get the cat a scratching post. I also saw kind of carpeted round box with a hole in it for sleeping.

Any other tips, websites or help would be appreciated. thanks

Why get a pet if you aren’t going to be home ever?

      1. Cat’s live healthier & longer on premium food from pet supply store. Check ingredients on pkgs of food; meat should be first 3 or 4 ingredients not grains. Cats are obligate carnivores & require protein. The pkgs have feeding instructions on how to feed. Find out what shelter feeds, start w/that. You don’t need canned food at all if cat is used to kibble. Canned can be a treat small cans 1/2 in a.m./1/2 in p.m. Cats hate change & totally love routine so don’t change brands if the cat is liking & doing well on 1 brand. Fresh water every day.

NO, you CANNOT put cat food in a soap container! Toxins in the soap, food will absorb it and toxin in cat + cat’s nose is 50 % more sensitive than yours. How would you like to eat food that smells like soap? You chance harming the cat or at the least turning it off the food because of the scent. Pet supply stores sell plastic storage containers to put kibble in that aren’t that expensive.

      2. Great place for litter box, stays cleaner when seen. Advise keeping depth of litter deeper than normal. Urine will soak up into litter before it gets to bottom & will keep pan fresher & allow for easier scooping. Any brand litter as long as it works. Things like newspaper, pine, & crystals do a lousy job. I like Tidy Cat.

NO you CANNOT flush cat litter! The scoopable kind which is what you want, will clog up a toilet quicker than you can blink an eye. There are a couple brands of flushable on the market but I’ve read those clog toilets too. Use one of those CostCO soap containers, line it with a grocery store plastic bag & empty stuff you scoop into it then every few days remove bag & throw it away. You can set it in the shower if floor space in at a premium.

No, you don’t have to add litter every time you scoop. Maybe once a week or so.

      3. No difference between male vs female. Let your heart be your guide when choosing. You’ll lock eyes with a cat & you’ll know that’s the one for you.

      4. You are absolutely correct. Kittens stay kittens for a few months then the cute factor is gone so I prefer adult cats. A cat’s personality doesn’t set in until cat is 1 year to 1 yr 2 mos. So that adorable kitten who cuddles can grow up to be an adult cat who hates being held. If you know what kind of personality you want then the only way to get it is via an adult cat.

      5. I wouldn’t bother w/box for sleeping. An expenditure that probably is useless as a cat will sleep where ever it wants & that will probably be your bed, a sofa or a chair. If you have the space & if you can put a box for sleeping out then you have room for a cat tree. Cat trees can be 4 to 6 feet tall & have several levels. They can scratch them, run up and down, dangle off the shelves, & sleep on them. In a small space, this gives cat a way to expand its horizons, see out windows, look down & survey its kingdom. If you can, get a cat tree much more important than box for sleeping. A scratching post per se is usually not helpful. They are not weighted & any pushing by cat knocks it over. A piece of equipment that I like & if it will fit is a window shelf. It attaches to window sill is carpeted & lets cat look out window or sun itself. If you have a piece of furniture that you can set in front of the window that would work too. I had a side table that worked. Buy a small bath mat with rubberized backing to protect the furniture & keep cat from flying off when it jumps there, works great & is washable. A great play toy for a cat is just a common old cardboard box. They jump in, out, sleep in it, & claw it. BTW, cats adore corrugated card board scratchers to sharpen claws on; pet supply stores sell them. Have shelter people show you how to trim cat’s nails & you won’t have claw problems if you just do that at the first of every month. Other toys are a kitty teaser & laser light. 15 minutes of hard play makes the cat happy & its great for bonding. Give it a treat (try Temptations). – very helpful info for an adopter – what you should NOT feed your cat. – how to trim cat’s nails use a cat nail trimmer from pet store not scissors.

      Good luck!

Noise In My Air After Cleaning With Q-tip (May Have Used It To Hard)? I don’t know exactly how I’m going to put this. But I’ll try to explain as good as I can.
I just came down from the bathroom, after cleaning my ears with some Q-tips, and I got this “Blowing/wind” sound in my left ear.

It’s not like tinnitus, were the beeping sound is the cause, but more like wind. as it’s “leaving my skull”.. no puns necessary please 🙂
Is it possible that I may used the Q-tip to hard and hit something? Should I see a doctor?
does someone have a simular experience

Trying To Turn A New Leaf!? I am trying to turn a new leaf and keep my room clean and organized everyday! i have already clean out my (HUMONGOUS) closet. I still have to clean out my dresser, bookshelf, desk, and bathroom! Every time I tell myself that i am going to go work in my room, i go up to my room and watch netflix off my ipod! i get distracted so easily! Any ideas or tips to help me not get so distracted???? It would be sooooo helpful!!!! THANKS 🙂

    • Curator says:

Leave your ipod somewhere else. Set a timer for 15, 20, or 30 minutes. You might want to start out with 15 minutes, then work up to a longer time. Work steadily for that amount of time. Concentrate. Focus. Do nothing but work on that shelf, that drawer, whatever. Don’t stop during your work period. Break your tasks into smaller, more manageable units, such as 1 drawer, 1 shelf, the tub, the shower, etc. Complete one unit before you begin on another.
Before you start, have whatever supplies you’ll need. Have a trash bag handy, a box or basket for items that need to be relocated to another area, a dust rag, feather duster, damp cloth, furniture polish, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, sponge – whatever you will need to complete the job, make sure you have it with you.
You’ll feel better once you begin to see progress. Keep going. Don’t give up.

It is a pity that your parents didn’t teach you as a child to retract your foreskin daily and wash under it like the rest of your body.

As a teenager it is now vital that you do wash fully under your foreskin on a daily basis to remove the waste product called smegma which collects there. Failure to do so will eventually lead to serious infections.

Your glans will be a bit sensitive at first simply because it has been hidden in your foreskin for so long but the more it is exposed and touched the sooner you will adjust to these everyday contacts.

If your foreskin cannot be freely retracted or it is painful to do so then you need to seek medical advice.
