Is It The Right Time To Quit Work? Well, I work at a golf course doing grounds keeping and have been doing so for the past 2 years and its been a love hate relationship and just returned back to work and today was my fourth day back. The job starts at 5am till 1pm(8 hour days) M-F and a weekend day still starting at 5am which sucks because it ruins friday or saturday night for you but the work on those days is for 3 hours. My pay is roughly $310 for 40 hours including the taxes taken out, its hard work with but i do have the option of overtime which is like 14-15 bucks an hour. For the past 2 years I found that I made some strong friendships with some of the guys, but those guys have moved on due to they graduated college and found new jobs leaving me high and dry.

Each day I go in I just get depressed, I want things to be like how they were a year or two ago when my buddies were working because we worked hard but had a good time doing it. I know they call it work for a reason but in the past 2 years it was more than a job and in a way i enjoyed most of my days, and the time i spent with my friends. My boss is not all that great and makes me feel like an idiot most of the time and he thinks he is the god of golf, also he just loves beating down his summer help and there is limited chance for moving up. The other guys who work there are boring, and generally older than me so we don’t have much in common. At the end of each work day I am so happy, but then it sets in that I have to go back the next day, and when I think about work I get a stomach ache and contemplating quitting every day. I like the type of work but hate my boss, coworkers and the hours sometimes. I just went back and this will be my 3rd summer working because I have school from September-May, but I am set to go out in 2 weeks because I need a surgery, and I am contemplating just not going back and searching for a new job. I enjoy working hard but I like having a good time while doing so, any advice would be awesome.

Forgot to mention i am job hunting around,online/craigslist( mainly in landscaping and carpentry) but i want to recover from my surgery so i don’t anger anyone by saying yes i can work but i have to have a surgery and recover. Along with that I am seeing if my father can pull some strings and see if he could get me a job with a general contractors or landscapers because he has a lot of ties and knows that i will bust my back to work. Plus I don’t know how well this surgery may go, i hope for the best but success rate isn’t the greatest and it would be life altering if it fails. Tough predicament for a 19 year old who is trying to pay for college, and a vehicle.

Carpentry Or Plumbing ? Which job would be more successful in business ?
They say do what you like and the money will follow. If I like carpentry and decide to do it, will small money follow.. or big money?

The idea is that if you truly love what you do then basically you seem to excel on doing it. In turn this will let yourself be known to your constituents as an expert on it yet the real reason is that you’re just loving what you do. For if you love the things that you do?
