Is It Possible For Me To Be A Walk On For College Football? I’m a senior playing strong safety, 5’10”, 165lbs, and unfortunately run a 4.96 40. I just started playing football my junior year and haven’t had any recruiting action happen…yet. I was thinking about trying to walk on at colleges like TCU, Baylor, Fresno State, GSU, Minnesota, and Texas Tech. Any chances?

  • What Is Your Top 5 NCAA Football Rankings? 1. Alabama 8-0 (9-0 after they beat LSU tonight)
    2. Florida State 9-0
    3. Ohio State 9-0
    4. Stanford 8-1 (I think they should be #4, they took down the #3 team in the nation)
    5. Baylor 8-0

Fantasy Football Team FLEX Help For Week 10!!? Standard league NO PPR! What’s my best option at FLEX:

Jordan Reed (good matchup on the spotlight), Steven Jackson (SEA defense got tore up by Mike James?), Steve Smith (tough defensive matchup but more passing to catchup?), Steve Johnson (breakout game with EJ back?) or Terrance Williams (bounce back game, heavy passing game against NO?)

    • Curator says:

Here’s my breakdown on your options:

Jordan Reed – I like his chances tomorrow night against the Vikings. While RGIII’s instinctive Baylor-inspired offense runs the ball and leaves the tight end starving for targets, I think a game against the Vikings will go into the mid-to-upper 30’s for both sides. Adrian Peterson is going to run all over the Washington secondary, and that’ll leave Alfred Morris and the gang to catch-up.. which should lead to Reed getting at least 5-6 targets overall I’d think. Expect 75+ yards and/or a TD.

Steven Jackson – He hasn’t quite learned how to sync with the Atlanta offense, not to mention he’s sharing his workload with teammate Jazquizz Rodgers. Coming off his injury that sidelined him for a good part of the season, Jackson’s hard to trust for me, even against a Seattle secondary rebounding from a Mike James beating.

Steve Smith – Major touchdown-commodity. He’s not your worst option here, but definitely not your best. I don’t like TD-or-bust type players because you’re not always going to get into the end zone, and that’s a fact. Steve Smith gets a good 5 or 6 fantasy points per game, but he’ll only score above 10 if he scores a TD. You’ll never see him run for over 100 yards.

Steve Johnson – I think E.J. Manuel might rely on Johnson for the most part, but he also has Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin to throw to, not to mention C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson for the occasional pass. I think Johnson will be the main focus of the Steelers’ pass defense. They may have given up 3 touchdowns to wideouts last week against the Patriots, but that was Tom Brady throwing the ball, not E.J. Manuel. I think Johnson’s a safe play out of your choices.

Terrance Williams: While Williams had a bad week last week, the Saints pass defense looks to be somewhat promising for a bounce-back. Sure, Romo throws to Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, and Cody Beasley as well, but Williams had been quite the target with Miles Austin sidelined, so why not now? I think with a week of him being ignored, we’ll see a week of him utilized once again. Another safe call.

      Hope I helped you out.

No. The ivy league is an east coast football league consisting of only 8 schools – Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Princton, UPenn, Brown, Columbia, and Cornell. Not all the ivies have medical schools. The ivy league is based on sports, not academics. Those are some top schools (Baylor isn’t a top school, but pretty good) but they aren’t the best at everything.

What College Team Has The Most High Powered Offense This Year? Try to not be biased towards you favorite team. Who do you guys think has the best offense as of right now in college football? FSU? Oregon? Baylor? Any others I’m not mentioning? I think it might be Oregon.

    • Curator says:

Oregon and Baylor both have high powered offenses but look who they’ve played, really no one… Same for Ohio St. They are putting points on the board but consider their schedule as well.. The Big 10 isn’t all that… FSU has played two (so called) top 10 teams and killed them so I would have to go with FSU…..
