SC Do You Have A Favorite Bee Gees Song? Robin Gibb lost his battle with liver cancer. I loved the song”I started a joke” that he sang in that trembly voice. I will miss his song.
Though I loved disco, he was more than that.

Robin Gibb Has Died From The Bee Gees, And What Are Your Memories And Favorite Songs From This Group? May he rest in peace. Another great singer gone.

    • Curator says:

I know, yet another great artist. Barry is the only brother left, Maurice was Robin’s twin. Maurice’s sudden death was back in January 2003. Even earlier on was Andy, (the youngest ) who died at the very young age of 30. Now the news of Robin after a prolonged battle with cancer, leaving Barry as the last surviving Bee Gee. It has been estimated that the Bee Gees’ career record sales total more than 220 million, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. GuyHawk you may find this interesting.. The Bee Gees were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and the presenter of the award to “Britain’s first family of harmony” was no other than Brian Wilson, historical leader of the Beach Boys, a “family act” also featuring three harmonizing brothers. The Bee Gees’ Hall of Fame citation says “Only Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees”.

Great band/music in the 70’s plus… They had many hits that I remember, so it’s almost impossible for me to pick one and call it my favorite. I have Their Greatest Hits..and while I enjoy some songs more than others I enjoy them all..here are some-

      “Stayin’ Alive”
      “How Deep Is Your Love”
      “Night Fever”
      “More Than a Woman”
      “Emotion” (Barry Gibb/Robin Gibb)
      “Too Much Heaven”
      “Tragedy”
      “Islands in the Stream”
      “Secret Love”
      “Jive Talkin'”
      “Nights on Broadway”
“Fanny (Be Tender with My Love)”
      “Love So Right”
      “If I Can’t Have You”
      “Love Me” (Barry Gibb/Robin Gibb)
      “You Should Be Dancing”

Many more, and many more they wrote for other artist..you’d be shocked how many songs they wrote for other artist..Their Greatest Hits: the Record was their career retrospective greatest hits album by the Bee Gees, released on UTV Records and Polydor in November 2001 as HDCD. The album includes 40 tracks spanning over 35 years of music. Four of the songs were new recordings of classic Gibb compositions originally recorded by other artists, including “Emotion” (Samantha Sang), “Heartbreaker” (Dionne Warwick), “Islands In The Stream” (Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton), and “Immortality” (Celine Dion). It also features the Barry Gibb duet with Barbra Streisand, “Guilty”, which originally appeared on Streisand’s 1980 album of the same name.

  • Lleh says:

How Would You Translate In Spanish The Sentence ” I Gotta Get A Message To You.”? (It’s the title of a song by the Bee Gees) The problem is the second verb. “Gotta” (!) can be translated as tengo que. However “get” in this case does not refer to having, receiving or acquiring. The narrator is saying that he wants to send a message and make sure that it is received. Getting a message to someone is much more intense and complete than merely sending it. I’m guessing a perfective form of some verb would be required. Help?

    • Curator says:

In Spanish it is okay to say “Tengo que darte un mensaje” because “tener” has the intense sense you want, not like he’s merely sending a message.

If you don’t want to use “tengo que” change it for “necesito” as in, “I need to get a message to you”.
Necesito darte un mensaje OR Necesito hacerte llegar un mensaje.
