Is It Worth Going To Bonnaroo If The Lineup Sucks? Never been before. Thinking about going this year. The only problem is I’m not a fan of any of the headliners except for Mumford and Sons, and even that band is average on my list. I couldn’t care less to hear Paul McCartney (never liked the Beatles) or Tom Petty.

For anyone who’s attended in the past, is it worth spending all that time and money for the festival if the bands are mediocre? I imagine there’s a lot of other stuff to do and smaller bands that might be cool to see for the first time.

Road Trip Suggestions? Me and some friends are traveling up to Manchester, TN this summer for Bonnaroo. But we wanted to make a road trip out of it, either going up the east coast (no further than Virginia) or to the west (no further than possibly southern Illinois). Anyone have any suggestions at some cities to visit on the way?

    • Curator says:

You didn’t say where you are coming from, but if it is from the south I would suggest going along the coast to see Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head, then up to Asheville, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, then to Manchester.

While in the area, be sure to visit Jack Daniel and George Dickel distilleries, the Beechcraft Heritage Museum, and the little town squares in Lynchburg, Wartrace, Bell Buckle, and Normandy. If you like to golf, hit Hilton Head, anywhere in NC, and Tims Ford State Park near Manchester.

Exactly What Drugs Will People Use At Bonnaroo? I’m not a pothead, but being around weed doesn’t bother me. I just won’t feel comfortable with my ‘neighbors’ shooting up heroin you know? So what are the common drugs people use and how does it even get in if we’re ‘searched’? Was anyone uncomfortable being around the drugs?

    • Curator says:

Let me put it this way … they have arrested people for possession of every class of drug there is. I’ve seen arrest reports (they are published in the newspaper) for marijuana, heroine, meth, mushrooms, Ecstasy, all kinds of pills, and on and on.

Some gets in even though they search and have dogs. People will find a way, or think they have until the dog hits on them.

I understand that there are zones in the campgrounds specifically to avoid this problem. You might check the website.

How Fast Do Bonnaroo Tickets See Out? I plan on going to bonnaroo but I will probably not be able to buy my ticket until the end of February. Do you think they will have tickets still? This is my first year

    • Curator says:

They have already sold out of holiday pre-sale tickets almost instantly. The next group of tickets will probably go on sale in late January and will go fast too. You would probably be buying in the next group. You have to act quickly when they open sales.

Go to and bookmark the site. Look every day to see when the next tickets go on sale and order immediately. In the meantime, read up on what type of tickets and package you want so you will be prepared to order.

Hope you can come and have a great time.
