Can Nicholas Mahut Make It Two Titles In A Month Today In Newport? I’m not a religious man, but I have prayed for Nico Mahut to win an ATP tour title for many years, as he was in serious danger of just becoming one of Tennis’ journeymen. Three weeks ago he won his maiden title in Den Bosch, and this week he has reached another final on the grass courts of Newport in the States. Can he win a second crown against Lleyton Hewitt, the Aussie who will realise this is probably going to he his best shot at a last career title on the tour?

Side question: Who is the player you would most like to be a first time winner on the tour and why?

    • Curator says:

Haha. Not a religious man? Some players just make you want to pray for them sometimes. Since we now know he has won, I’ll just name a few players I hope will follow suit.

Bennetau also like Paul said. I think most everyone feels bad for Julien. The fact that you see some players who win titles, and Bennetau hasn’t been able to climb that mountain yet, it makes you shake your head sometimes. Carlos Berlocq for example. If he’s a first timer, it has to happen eventually. Right?

Other players escape my mind at the moment. How about some young ones. Dimitrov, Janowicz. They can join the likes of Raonic, Tomic, in that respect.

Any other journeymen or women who are out there, I wish the best to them as well.

Congrats to Mahut again, and also to Berlocq and Fognini.

Has Anyone Ever Explained To You The Simple Means Of Invoking God Or ANY Spirit Being? One Law governs the ability to invoke Spirits- including THE God Himself:
    .
    .
    . AMOS 3:3.
    .
    3. “Can two walk together,
    Except they be agreed?”
    .
    .
Sinful Humans therefore have two options if they want to interact with God on a one-to-one basis.
    .
    .
    1. They can REPENT, and GIVE OVER their Opinions and Thoughts to God:
    .
    .
    . ISAIAH 55:6-9.
    .
    .
Scripture tells us WHAT God’s Thoughts and Ways are, so that we can AGREE with Him.
    .
    .
When a person does this on ANY. Level of Reality, the RESULTS are IMMEDIATE:
    .
    .
    . 2nd CHRONICLES 16:9.
    . MALACHI 3:16-17.
    . JOHN 14:10-27.
    .
    .
(Since. I am on my phone, and going to work, I do not have time to type out, nor Copy & Paste, the entire Scriptures. Those who are not Religious nor Spiritual, and despise Scripture would still complain, anyway.)
    .
    .
    2. The other option is DEATH.
    .
    .
    . EZEKIEL 18:4.
    .
    4. “Behold, all Souls are Mine;
As the Soul of the father,
So also the Soul of the son is Mine:
THE SOUL THAT SINNETH, IT SHALL DIE.”
    .
    .
Sin is the DISAGREEMENT with God, that HE has Divine Right of Ownership and Lordship to COMMAND us HOW to use the Souls which HE not only GAVE us, but SUSTAINS on a MOMENT-BY-MOMENT basis.
    .
    .
If your senses were refined to *see* into the Spiritual Realm, you would *see* ALL Living things are FED Life Energy from a SOURCE ENTITY that services THEIR SPECIFIC Species.
    .
    .
(ONE Western Academician reported *seeing* this process- the anthropologist CARLOS CASTANEDA- so he was quickly discredited by the Establishment that needs to keep the public in ignorance.)
    .
    .
To give up your entire life for YOUR Sins is the greatest- but not the BEST- agreement a Sinner can have with God. The BEST. Agreement would be to ADMIT one has ABUSED GOD’S PROPERTY, and to MAKE FULL AMENDS (Isaiah 1:18; Exodus 22:1-6; Luke 16:1-15).
    .
    .
To confront God without adequate preparation is very bad, and likely ends very badly (Exodus 33:20; John 8:51-53).
    .
    .
Most Sinners are exrtremely shallow-minded, and say stupid things, like:
    .
    .
“Well- if God is so (*Bleep!*) powerful, He would just MANIFEST to ME, and END all my Doubts, for once and for all! Since He hasn’t, HE MUST NOT EXIST!”
    .
    .
Can you see why that thinking is understatedly wrong?
    .
    .
    . MATTHEW 7:9-29.
    .
    .
The biggest bombshell of Carlos Castaneda’s. Work (see: THE FIRE FROM WITHIN) is that most Sinners who die are in ZERO danger of “Everlasting Torment in Hell” SHALLOW Christians think is so important.
    .
    .
Actually, those Sinners who go to Hell probably count themselves LUCKY- considering. the USUAL ALTERNATIVE…..!
@MAUROG IV: Would you tell an Anthropologist (case in point) that “All you have is a book! There is no evidence that the tribes you report exist!” when you don’t go to the places described, but just sit down at home?
    .
    .
Or else you do not even go to those places, but somewhere else?
    .
    .
Yes, “We have a Book.” Very good.
    .
    .
Did you READ this Book, and APPLY its instructions?
    .
    .
Do you have superior Solutions to the Problems It handles? (It says that you cannot.)

    • Curator says:

You claim to follow a god, but it seems all you have is a book.

Please stop worshiping books, and turn to the one true Flying Spaghetti Monster.

  • Why Would Parents Name Their Son ‘Chaos’? There was a boy in my class (when I was in primary school) and his name was Chaos. All the teachers would tell him “I know why your parents called you that!”
He was English so I am pretty sure his parents knew what ‘Chaos’ means when naming their son!

At the time I didn’t know what his name meant but I know what it means now, and I find it very cruel of parents to name their child something like ‘Chaos’. It not only makes the child feel bad, but it also gives others an opportunity to make fun of him.

I found that pretty sad and always wonder why some parents name their children with horrible names.

Why do such parents name their child these bad names?

    • Curator says:

Its sad that his teachers played into the name, rather than encouraging him to rise above it. 🙁 They do say people live up to their name…

On the last season of MasterChef, the contestant Monti Carlo had named her then 2 year old “Danger”. She thought he would appreciate it in college with his friends. I think that is about the most shallow reasoning you can come up with. Seriously, can you see the name “Danger” on a graduation announcement, or a wedding invitation, or a business card? Her aspiration for her son is for him to be a frat boy. I do think names like can be very limiting.

  • What Is A Good Research Question For “The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber”? I have to write a 1,200-1,500 word essay on an aspect from “The short Happy life of Francis Macomber” by Earnest Hemingway, but I can’t think of anything to analyse. Can someone help me thing of something?

    • Curator says:

Well, it seems you’re after qualitative research questions, right? In this case, you might think about answering more SPECIFIC (and narrower) research questions such as:
      1. What are the main factors that made Francis Macomber lead a short happy life?

      2. What are the particular aspects that made Francis Macomber’s short life a happy one?

      3. Which were the main ideas/themes that Hemingway highlighted in this short story?

To help you, I highlighted for you the following main themes from Wikipedia:
he essence of The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber is courage. Wilson has courage but Macomber, who is afraid of lions, has none. The cowardly husband whos wife made her way from Wilson’s tent hours before, reaches a point of courage when he hunts the buffalo.[2] When Macomber finds the courage to face the charging buffalo he forges the identity he wants: the courage to face wild animals; the courage to face his wife.[3] Tragically, Macomber’s happiness is measured in hours, and indeed even in minutes.[2][3] Hemingway biographer, Carlos Baker, claims that Macomber loses his fear as the buffalo charges, and the loss of fear ushers Macomber into manhood, which Margot instantly kills.[2]
Baker believes Wilson symbolizes the man free of woman (because he refuses to allow Margot to dominate him) or of fear; the man Macomber wishes to be.[2] Wilson understands, as he blasts the lion dead, that Margot is a woman who needs to be dominated.[2] Jeffrey Meyers considers Margot Macomber to be the villain of the story.[4] She characterises “a predatory (rather than a passive) female who is both betrayer and murderer”; and she emphasizes the connection between “shooting and sex.”[4]
Francis Macomber has lived most of his adult life under the manipulative and domineering influence of Margot. He cannot bring himself to face her and assert his leadership in their marriage, allowing her to step all over him. The text implies that the affair with Wilson is not the first time Margot has cheated on her husband. Macomber, fleeing from the lion, is unimpressive when compared with Wilson, the seasoned hunter and safari-veteran, cool and collected in the face of danger.
