  • Is Carnival Cruise Lines Glad They Spent All That Money Lobbying Against Safety Regulations? Carnival cruise lines may be feeling like they have egg on their face, or in this case feces running down the side of their ship after the company spent close to $1.5 Million to lobby members of Congress in 2012. Most of those lobbying efforts were aimed at rallying Tea Party legislators to strike regulations requiring the installation of safety systems on ships that hail from US Ports: including regulations requiring minimum standards for backup generators, fire suppression systems, emergency medical stations and water desalination and purification units.”

Carnival Triumph Incident? Can anybody agree with me that there were some real whiners aboard that ship??!! I mean c’mon, sure toilets overflowing and limited food and water is pretty uncomfortable, but there were some real drama queens on that ship. Some Americans are just cry babies. They need to toughen up and ride on and stop bitching. Plus carnival gave them a complete refund plus an extra cruise so it’s not as if they lost anything. Oh yea and that bitch of a woman who is suing carnival (less than 24 hrs after they reached mobile) just proves that there’s people out there who are just trying to make a fast buck without any work. But I guess that’s what you get when you pile hundreds of spoiled rich brats on a lavish vessel 🙂

Would You Go On A Cruise With CARNIVAL Cruise Line? I would also like to commend the Staff of the Carnival Triumph for their hard work, amazing performance and helpfulness during the horrible situation aboard the Carnival Triumph. The had to deal with terrible situation but they faced them with the best attitude possible and made the best of it. They did an impeccable, fantastic and flawless job!!!!!

I can’t imagine them turning away 3000+ passengers at the very last minute and telling them, “Sorry, we have to cancel your cruise because we have to send the ship you were all going to sail on, out to transfer all the passengers onto from their ship that just broke down.” 3000+ passengers who went through this ordeal are already p!$$3d as it is, they don’t need an additional 3000 upset passengers who showed up to check in only to be be told at the last second, “Sorry, something suddenly came up!” That would be a HUGE P.R. problem! At least with the future cruises on Triumph that were canceled due to what happened, it’s allowed them to give passengers SOME notice to make other arrangements.

The cruise lines don’t have spare ships sitting in a large boathouse somewhere, just in case one of them breaks down. An empty ship, or one that isn’t sailing means they aren’t making money, and money is what it’s all about when all is said and done.

When a cruise ship comes back to the port at the end of a cruise, it usually sails again that very same afternoon, on another cruise. The show must go on. Gotta keep things moving, and keep that money coming in, in order to pay for those expensive ships. They try to keep down times minimal..

This is already going to cost them plenty.
