Do African American Men Here Agree That This Is How We Have To Be In The Workplace? By Rod Emelle

    1) Lose the facial hair. Some white people fear other white people wearing thick beards, so what do you think you standing at the coffee machine looking like Isaac Hayes beard will do to your already menacing profile and black man title? I have two words for you, Rick Ross. A clean shaven black man puts people at ease. A bearded brother with degrees in biochemistry and accounting can’t walk the aisles of a 7-11 without getting followed. A clean shaven OJ Simpson had a double murder sitting in his back pocket for years and had us all fooled. You may get away with goatee or a low beard, with a letter from a dermatologist or built up “teddy bear” points (we shall discuss later). You can get away with a large amount of hair atop your head in the form of a TWA (Teeny Weeny Afro). It is non-threatening and welcoming like Urkel . If you insist on the facial hair your severance package may be cut before you get to your cubicle.

    2) Do not have a strong opinion about ANYTHING. A mosaic of who you are is being built by all in the office. For you are some of these people’s first black man and no one knows what rage or meagerness lies beneath your brown hued veneer. Benign questions could quietly determine the rose or sh** colored glasses through which you will be seen through forever. EX: “Have you ever bungee jumped, Malik?” and Malik responds “Daring gravity isn’t my thing. Plus black people and the activity of hanging don’t have such a great history.” Those words in a more diverse office may go over well. In a less diverse office, you have now become Nat Turner. So STFU.

    3) Laugh at the unfunny jokes. This is kind of a rule for all people, but if YOU don’t laugh you do nothing but fulfill the stereotype of angry black man. Not that you are one, but you are seen as one until your termination which could come soon, if you don’t laugh at the escargot joke.

    4) You dress up every day. (even on casual Friday). Well, maybe not dress up but you cannot introduce the new Soulja Boy line or your drawers to the office. Polo shirts and khakis. Your casual is not their casual. If Brad from accounting dresses like a surfer, “Oh that’s Brad.” If Malik dresses like Lil Weezy, he will be “spoken to” or a memo for “the office” ( or you) will go out.

    5) Keep up on pop culture. At the water cooler and by the coffee machine conversations not of a work nature may begin. There is a great chance BASKETBALL WIVES and Chris Breezy’s latest antics may not be the core subjects. No, what are the Kardashians doing and how the new Royals, Kate and William, are doing, may be the subject. Start picking up PEOPLE magazine and checking for the latest on Kim, Angelina and Miley.

    6) The phrases “is anything wrong?”, “do you need some help?” and “we have some concerns” really mean “something is wrong”, “we’re getting you some help” and “you’re fired”. If they ask “Is anything wrong”, you have been a concern and the first write up is coming. “Do you need some help” means we’re going to assign this task to someone else. And “We have some concerns” means we hired Brad’s cousin to replace you after we tell you we are firing you, off the work site at Chili’s. Why do these phrases translate so poorly? Because no one in the office wants to approach you for fear you have Rodney King “superhuman strength” and aggression that was not seen in your five previous interviews to get this job. So instead of telling you what’s wrong to improve your work, it all piles up and then HR has stacked credible case to release you with the assistance of the big black guys in security.

    7) You cannot get excited at all or raise your voice. That is it. Scoff loudly and you’re fired. Only Samuel L. Jackson can yell and swear at white people, not get fired and get paid millions for it. “Tell that bitch be cool! Tell that bitch be cool! Tell that bitch be cool!”

    8) Never give a head nod to another black man in the presence of a white person. It comes across as some secret society sign to kill all the white people or Jedi (see Order 66 in STAR WARS: Episode ll). It makes people feel left out and uncomfortable. Just say “hello”

    9) OJ did it. Do I really have to explain that to you? If so you don’t deserve the job.

    10) Always be scoring “teddy bear” points. “Teddy Bear” points are what a black man—especially a big bl
I didn’t write this, but I did ask the question.

  • Do These Documents Show That The Media CONSPIRED To Kill Any Story About Rev Wright During The Campaign? If even PART of this is true, don’t the republicans NOW have to worry, not only about their opponents in the races, but the media as well, seeing as how they have decided to cover up things they do not like?

CBS News alumnus Bernie Goldberg will tell you that there is no left-wing conspiracy among the mainstream media — it just happens to be made up almost entirely of progressives who report “the news” as it appears to them while wearing their liberal blinders. I wonder what Goldberg makes of new revelations that the establishment media deliberately suppressed information about Obama’s long and close relationship with Jeremiah Wright, who for 20 years spewed his hatred of Caucasians and America into B. Hussein’s receptive ears:

According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.
According to these lib journalists, their colleagues were oppressing poor Barry even as they slobbered on his shoes.

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”
Michael Tomasky, a writer for the Guardian, also tried to rally his fellow members of Journolist: “Listen folks — in my opinion, we all have to do what we can to kill ABC [which enraged other liberal outlets by reporting on Wright] and this idiocy in whatever venues we have. This isn’t about defending Obama. This is about how the [mainstream media] kills any chance of discourse that actually serves the people.”
Let me translate, for those unfamiliar with communist lingo. When a leftist says “the people,” he means “The Collectivist State.”

Thomas Schaller, a columnist for the Baltimore Sun as well as a political science professor, upped the ante from there. In a post with the subject header, “why don’t we use the power of this list to do something about the debate?” Schaller proposed coordinating a “smart statement expressing disgust” at the questions Gibson and Stephanopoulos had posed to Obama.
“It would create quite a stir, I bet, and be a warning against future behavior of the sort,” Schaller wrote.
Tomasky approved. “YES. A thousand times yes,” he exclaimed.
In case you thought there was any meaningful distinction between the “mainstream” media and radical left outfits like the Nation:

Chris Hayes of the Nation posted on April 29, 2008, urging his colleagues to ignore Wright. Hayes directed his message to “particularly those in the ostensible mainstream media” who were members of the list. …
Hayes urged his colleagues — especially the straight news reporters who were charged with covering the campaign in a neutral way — to bury the Wright scandal. “I’m not saying we should all rush en masse to defend Wright. If you don’t think he’s worthy of defense, don’t defend him! What I’m saying is that there is no earthly reason to use our various platforms to discuss what about Wright we find objectionable,” Hayes said.
In other words, lie by silence. This tactic defines media coverage — or more accurately, the lack of it — in the age of Obama.
Wait a sec?! So now I have to use sources that are approved by youliberals? That’s a laugh…a source can be almost anything, as exampled by the national enquirer being the source for some real reports on things in the past…try again

    • Curator says:

I guess my liberal friends forget, there was two years of campaigning for obama..i was there….the lib media still leaves out anything that they think harms their agenda…we knew about Edwards two years ago…no liberal outfit said a word for two yrs…same with Wright….
