Should The Cleveland Browns Select A WR Or A RT In The Second Round And Who Should They Pick In The 3rd Round? There are still some good receivers on the board, This is a very deep draft for WRs.

    • Curator says:

They have the 5th pick, here is their top 5 options if you ask me, take the best ranked player left.

1 OL – Cordy Glenn (Best player available, and he fills their need at RT)

2 CB – Janoris Jenkins (You can never have too many good CB’s, Jenkins fit that mold)

3 OT – Jonathan Martin (More of a LT really, McCoy and Weeden will get plenty of time to throw)

4 WR – Stephen Hill (Hill at Split End, Massaquoi at Flanker and Little in the slot, a pretty good receiver core.

5 DE – Courtney Upshaw (QB pressure wins SB, take the pass rusher here)

In the 3rd round they should take the best player on their board, no players selected in round 3 is expected to start as of now, the Browns don’t know what they will need position wise next year, but they do know they can never have enough good football players.

Browns Reccent Drafts? I keep seeing Browns have a terrible Draft reccord but I think they’ve turned that a round in reccent years

    1st round picks

2005- Braylon Edwards at 3- was great for the first couple years, questionable hands and his career has dropped off since he left cleveland but did make a couple pro bowls- good pick

2006- Kamerion Wimbley at 13- Solid Linebacker but never really lived up to 13 pick so ill give him -bad pick

2007- Joe Thomas at 3- Seriously one of the best players in the league been in the Probowl every year -Great pick

Brady Quinn at 22- Not a good pick, I do believe he never got a fair shot but has yet to prove his worth at all – Bad pick

    2008 N/A

2009 Alex Mack at 21- I do disagree with them trading down that year but they manage to get a Pro Bowl Center this late in the first round is amazing- great pick

2010- Joe Haden at 7- Great corner one of the best young corners in the league and has prven his worth, – good pick

2011- Phil Taylor at 21- last year was solid in the middle too soon yet to decide if he was worth it

    2012 Trent Richardson-we shall see
    Brandon Weeden-We shall see

I think Browns have drafted well, I think Weeden was a reach but they have more info on this guy than i do, but I think browns are going in the right direction, Colt I wasnt going win it for it, I dont think we were ever really behind him, how much expectation do you have for a qb drafted in the 3rd round?
Two pro bowlers isnt exactly a terible line, and I do agree browns feel for a bluff, but they really had no choice they could afford to lose out on richardson, Bucs could have easily traded up and viking who still have been able to take kalil at 5

    • Curator says:

It is not just the first round picks you need to go with but who else they got in those drafts. The problem this year is not who the Browns got, I think Richardson will be a very good back, but what they gave up for him. Some may say they had to because of the Buccaneers but I disagree. Sure Tampa may of traded up and got Richardson but the Browns need a lot more than just a RB to make the playoffs again. They could of went with Blackmon (I know some people does not think of him as a playmaker but he could be) or even go with Kalil to be their RT to solidify the bookends of the line. They could then go with HB for a rotation type of system like so many other teams with Hardesy (sp?) in the second or third, depending on who they took in the first. Loosing a 4th, 5th, and 7th rd picks may not seem a real big deal but for a team that needs quality depth on the lines where the draft is strong in is a big deal. For a team needing more talent to loose the chance to gain them for one guy is not a good idea. This would be a different story if the Browns only needed one or two more pieces to be playoff contenders, but I don’t think they are right now.

  • Top 5 Picks For The Second Round? For me.
    1. St Louis Rams – Courtney Upshaw (LB/DE Alabama) Get Some Linebacker Help and Another Pass Rusher.

    2. Indianapolis Colts – Coby Fleener (TE Stanford) Brings Somebody that Andrew Luck knows and can Grow with.

    3. Baltimore Ravens – Janoris Jenkins (CB North Alabama) They have made it public they want him

    4. Denver Broncos – Stephen Hill (WR Georgia Tech) Peyton Needs Weapons

    5. Cleveland Browns – Alshon Jeffery (WR South Carolina) Whoever is The QB Needs A Target

  • SoCleveland says:

Why Do So Many People Think The Browns Viking Trade Was Bad For Cleveland? I think there is little doubt that the viking were gonna use that pick so many teams wanted richardson I think they planned to trade it all along, so Browns game up 3 almost usless picks to guarantee they get the guy they wanted. I dont see how thats bad, when your starting running back is hardesty or ogbonnya then sometimes you have to give up too much but they still got 9 more picks. I dont get whats bad about it

obviously and amazing trade for minny
Because they would have traded it, if Cleveland didnt make the move Richardson would be a buc right now
if they traded to 5 they would still get kalil
if they traded to 5 they would still get kalil

  • Anonymous says:

You Think It’s Weird Cleveland Had Their Pick In Immediately? While the Colts and ‘Skins took like 2 minutes with easier decisions to make.
Thank you Browns for not being a ton of douchebags.

  • Truth Teller says:

Are The Cleveland Browns Retarded? They traded up from 4 to 3 to get Trent. Minnesota wasn’t taking Trent anyway. They wasted a 4th, 5th, and 7th round pick for NOTHING.

This may go down as the dumbest move in NFL history wow.
