Which Former Ballplayer Has Caused The Most Trouble? Among these candidates:

    1. Barry Bonds. Used designer steroids (before the ban), gave a sloppy answer to a grand jury, got dragged into court (costing taxpayers millions), given a few months of house arrest (and with his house, this is hardly punishment).

    2. Roger Clemens. May have used steroids (before the ban). May have lied to Congress (a proud and longstanding tradition in the republic, the many practitioners of which include Commissioner Selig and probably every president whom ever has addressed Congress). Got dragged into court (costing taxpayers millions), wherein the government prosecution bungled the case almost immediately. Got dragged back into court (costing taxpayers more millions). Verdict pending; might face a few months’ time in minimum security. Then again, might walk free.

    3. Curt Schilling. Despite amusing anti-government, anti-welfare rants, took a huge amount of taxpayer money ($75 million) from Rhode Island government when relocating his software company. Said company went bankrupt, fleecing taxpayers for millions (costing taxpayers many millions; and this after asking for more millions, which were not given). Now ex-employees learn that company relocation failed to sell former homes, as claimed, putting them on the hook for old mortgages they thought of (in good faith) as long since closed out.

BQ. Will Schilling be dragged into court?

Studio 38’s Mass Lay-offs Yesterday, What Are Your Thoughts? What Will Happen To Amalur? Read this article for further details:

To be honest I was shocked to hear this! Even though Kingdom’s of Amalur wasn’t as big a success as Skyrim, Diablo 3 or Mass Effect 3. It still was a moderate success and a decent game. The fact that this was Studio 38’s first game made that fact all the more impressive! I had really hoped to see more from them in the long run.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Who actually owns the rights the Amalur series, EA or Studio 38?
A few days ago? The memo laying everyone off was dated yesterday?!?!
I’m not disputing EA’s evil nature. They are bastards! BUT, as far as I have found out, this decision to lay-off the staff of S38 was an internal one. i.e. Curt Schilling & co. EA “supposedly” had nothing to do with it.

Though I wouldn’t be surprised if this is somehow EA’s fault, I’m well aware of their dark practices.

Next Year These Guys Will Be Eligible For The Hall Of Fame, Who Will Make It In The First Ballot? Craig Biggio
    Barry Bonds
    Roger Clemens
    Mike Piazza
    Curt Schilling
    Sammy Sosa

    • Curator says:

Sosa, Clemens, and Bonds WILL NOT make it on their first ballots. All put up Hall of Fame-types of numbers but they did used steroids to put up those numbers. At this point, I DON’T see any of them making the Hall of Fame.

I see Biggio, Schilling, and Piazza having the best shots at making the Hall of Fame on their first ballot. But to me, Biggio has the BEST shot because he had over 3,000 career hits and was very consistent over a long period of time. Piazza will eventually make it but I DON’T think on his first ballot but he was one of the best offensive catchers ever. Schilling should have very good chances for his years on the ballot though.

Is It True On A Number Of Occasions That Curt Schilling Physichally Handled Manny R? Schilling admitted things got physichal with Manny Ramirez in Boston in interviews. My friend said Schilling popped him one, is that even true?

    • Curator says:

I met him in 2004. A friend’s brother also works for his gaming software company, 38 studios, so I’m sure I’ll run into him again eventually.. He’s taller than what he appears to be on TV, as are most pro athletes.

I don’t like him personally, he tries to get involved in local politics here and thinks he’s rush limbaugh.
