Rapid Reaction: Dallas Cowboys

16 December 2013 | 1:22 am ARLINGTON, Texas — A few thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys' 37-36 loss against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. What it means for the Cowboys: Mathematically the Cowboys (7-7) have everything in front of them still, which just sounds so hollow after an outcome like this. The Cowboys had a 23-point lead against a backup quarterback and could not close the deal as they continued to find inventive … http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/59653/rapid-reaction-dallas-cowboys-10

    Why Do Clowns Continue To Blame Romo For Dallas’ Struggle? If it wasn’t for Romo the Cowboys wouldn’t be remotely relevant in the playoff picture. It wasn’t his fault on that pic either.

    No, I’m not a Cowboys fan. I despise the Cowboys. But come on.. It has nothing to do with Romo. How many times do people have to point out they have the worst defense in the league and Romo has to carry them every year/game. Pay attention. Let’s not forget about the great Jason Garrett either.

  • How Stupid Are The Dallas Cowboys? They had the game won at halftime all they had to do it run the rest of the time out but oh wait, running the ball was too simple. Instead they keep throwing and turning the ball over and lose the game. I find this ridiculous and feel like I could be a better coach/play caller then the idiot calling plays for the cowboys. They averaged 7 yards a carry yet they threw the ball upward of 55 times rushing under 20 times. This just doesnt make any sense to me at all
    By the way, im not even a cowboys fan, just a big football fan and stupid stuff like this pisses me off

    Best Places To Live In Usa? Okay! Hi guys! I’m a girl in year 9 in AU, and considering going to USA on student exchange in year 10. Oh and by the way i will be going for a semester starting August so consider the weather and stuff! i love snow! So my question here is which are the best cities/states or whatever in America??? The main ones Im looking towards right now are New York and California. Should i go with one of them or are there better cities? And any advice about school in America? Thank you!
    Oh and by the way I LOVE sightseeing and any pretty cities/towns with amazing attractions and fun stuff! and if theres cute parks to walk around (like central park in NYC) im there! lol! but i hate deserted towns…

      I’m a U.K. expat living the U.S. I’ve lived in San Diego, CA; Dallas, Texas and in Florida, and where I currently live in Austin, Texas. I’ve been to 35 of the 50 states and I love New York City.

      Here are a couple of other questions you many want to also consider to ask yourself.
      * Will you have a need for public transportation?
      * Do you prefer warm or cold?

      You’ve already clarified that you like:
      * Sightseeing
      * Pretty city
      * Attractions
      * Fun

      * No to deserted cities.

      Northern US cities are going to be colder i.e. New York. Southern California will be warm and Northern California in comparison is much colder.

      Some of the larger cities can be 40 miles across so getting around can be a huge problem without a good public transportation system. New York does indeed have a great public transportation system. California as a whole has some public transportation but not really on a scale like New York.

      Some of the larger cities can feel cold and impersonal at times. That has certainly been my impression of Southern California and less so of Northern California. Contrary to others, my experience of native New Yorkers has been very warm.

      I can tell you that I currently find myself always coming back to Texas and in particular Austin, Texas. Here are some reasons I would recommend this place to you.

      It is very definitely not boring or deserted.
      It’s a University town and so has a lot to offer younger people
      It’s home to the X Games for the next several years
      It is the state capitol
      It is the Live music capitol of the world
      It hosts several major events throughout the year including SXSW (South By Southwest) and Austin City Limits. I’ll leave you to Google these things.
      It is always rated very, very highly in all of the major publications for a great place to visit and live
      It is a beautiful city sitting right on the waterfront of the Colorado River.
      It’s home to Blanton Museum of Art
      It’s home to the Harry Ransom center
      It has a very good inner-city public transportation system
      It’s within 200 miles of Houston and Dallas and 80 miles from San Antonio. So if you want a place that is within easy reach of other cities then Austin is very central, deep in the heart of Texas.

      It’s home to major US education institution The University of Texas with 50,000 students.
      In addition to claiming to be the “Live Music Capitol of The World” it has an extremely vibrant film community. It’s home to many celebrities like:
      * Matthew McConaughey
      * Sandra Bullock
      * Robert Rodriguez
      * Andy Roddick
      * Richard Linklater
      * Terence Mallick

      They are filming here all of the time for various Films or TV Shows for example:
      * Al Pacino was filming Manglehorn last month here
      * Transformers 4 filmed in nearby Lockhart
      * Jon Favreau just finished shooting here
      * Josh Duhamel will be filming here in January
      * Robert Rodriguez is in the process of shooting Sin City 2 here.

      When my nephew from England came to visit a couple of years back, spur of the moment we signed up to be extras on a film with Heather Graham, Amber Heard and Jennifer Coolidge called Ex-Terminators.

      In August it will be warm, very warm. That may be a negative for you.

      Let’s not forget that Texas is well known for it’s Cowboy culture. More music venues than you can shake a stick at; The only Formula One event in the US (a purpose built Formula One circuit, COTA) and Austin is currently the USA National Champions for Australian Rules Football.

      If I were new to the US and wanted to really go to a livable city that epitomizes the culture of America while embracing it’s modern aspects Austin, Texas would be near the top of my list.

      I think you are doing the right thing reaching out the locals. I hope this helped.

      P.s. Check out this link for some short snappy videos about Austin:

  • Coach says:

    Who To Start At QB This Week? Flynn Or Cutler? Flynn is playing against the worst Defense in the NFL (DALLAS), but is shaky at best. Cutler is coming off an injury and is playing in the cold weather, but against a weak Cleveland D. Who do you feel is the best QB? It’s the semi-finals for me too…

    • Curator says:

      Tough call here. Cutler on the road coming off an injury with the Bears on a short week playing in terrible conditions just isn’t favorable. I could possible see McNown coming in at some point if Cutler can’t get in rhythm. That would kill you.

      I’m leaning towards Flynn in good conditions against a short week inexperienced Cowboys defense.
      Give Flynn the nod.
