Baltimore Ravens vs. Detroit Lions: Takeaways from Detroit's 18-16 Loss

17 December 2013 | 8:03 am The Detroit Lions have suffered some soul-crushing losses in the past 20 years, but none might be any worse than the 18-16 loss on Monday Night Football to the Baltimore Ravens . When Justin Tucker's 61-yard field goal, his sixth of the game, snuck inside the upright and just over the crossbar, Lions fans everywhere saw their playoff dreams crushed. Matthew Stafford 's subsequent interception …

Lions season on the brink after another loss

17 December 2013 | 7:59 am DETROIT — The mantras seem empty now, feel more hollow than before. All week the Detroit Lions talked about more focus, more urgency and how Monday night was supposed to be the start of a final push to the playoffs. And it might be a push that ended before it really started, a playoff run halted by a combination of the foot of Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker and the same follies that …

Rapid Reaction: Detroit Lions

17 December 2013 | 4:59 am DETROIT — A few thoughts on the Detroit Lions' 18-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. What it means: The Lions defense did exactly what it needed to do Monday night: It kept Baltimore from scoring a touchdown. The Lions found a way to lose anyway, putting their season and perhaps the coaching career of Jim Schwartz in jeopardy. Detroit's team was built on its offense, with the firepower of Calvin …

How Do I Break Out Of The “Friend Zone” Before It’s Too Late? I am very attracted to a new coworker of mine. It seemed like she and I were kinda hitting it off at work, so I gave her my number. She and I are both huge football fans. She’s from Detroit, and is a huge Lions fan; and texted me asking if I wanted to meet her at the bar for their Monday night game last night. Of course I went, and we chatted a little, but there was quite a bit of uncomfortable silence. I told her that I was glad she texted me, and glad that we got together. She replied “I’m always glad to meet new friends.”. My red flags went up, and I kinda feel that the attraction is not mutual.

Was that an indication that I’ve already been placed in the “Friend Zone”? If so, is there any way out; or am I already dead in the water?

Why Are The Dallas Cowboys Such Chumps!? With the Eagles losing in Minnesota the Cowboys had a chance to tie for the division lead but lost a 23 point lead against the Packers. Last season they had a chance to win the division but lost to the Redskins. The seson before that they had a chance to win the division but lost to the Giants. Chumps!

Very frustrating right now being a Cowboys fan. The defense is worthless. Romo gets most of the blame, but if they had played a little defense yesterday they would have won that game. He did make a terrible throw that gave it back to Green Bay there at the end, and it does make him look bad as he seems to do that at the worst possible times. Even with that, DEFENSE is still the number one problem in Dallas. They have been beyond bad this year, one of the worst defensive teams in history. I have been a Cowboys fan for quite a while, but it’s not fun right now. Jerry Jones is a numbskull. He must be getting senile or something. They had a golden opportunity yesterday because the Eagles, Giants, and Redskins all lost. It was looking good at halftime but then they allowed themselves to get shredded by a backup QB. I agree, a big bunch of chumps is exactly what they look like. They’re better at beating themselves than any team I have ever seen. I know there is technically still a possibility they will make the playoffs, but it doesn’t matter. If they do make it in, they’ll get beat. Lee is the best defensive player they have, and he’s on the sideline with a neck injury. Ware has not been his usual self, and the defensive backs just plain suck. Can’t win in the playoffs like that, they might as well forget it cause it ain’t happening.

Warren Sapp said it best: They have turned into the “Allas Cowboys”, because there is no “D”.

The Dallas defense this season has allowed an average of 427 yards per game. The 2008 Detroit Lions, who NEVER WON A SINGLE GAME, allowed 404.

My head almost exploded from reading your bad grammar xO

Bears still have a shot to win it, but they have to finish with a better record than the Lions, since the Lions own the tiebreaker.

    • Curator says:

Detroit Pistons. As with the Lions, Tigers and Red Wings they are the closest team to me. And, as with the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings my Mom got me “into” the sport.
