Why Does FOX News Only Hire Blonde Women? Yes, I know there have always been a couple token non-white females…Any insights on this?

Big surprise, new FOX & Friends anchor? Elisabeth Hasselbeck from The View:

Maryjane: The case is not closed in fact I conceded that there are “A FEW TOKEN MINORITY” women, but can you tell me why over 90% of their female anchors are blonde?? lol I hope you will actually debate me on this…
Picador: so you believe evolution is a liberal conspiracy? and all of the factless moronic rants of Glenn Beck and Hannity?? case is truly closed, you’re either over 85 years old or grossly undereducated and misinformed…

Do You Think Megan Kelly From Fox News And Elisabeth Hasselbeck Look Alike? I think they look identical. Also, what ethnicity is Megan Kelly?

    • Curator says:

No, Elizabeth Hasselback is way prettier. I really don’t know what people see in Megyn Kelly. She’s not ugly, but she doesn’t look drop dead gorgeous to me.

      All in the Family

      10. Martha Stewart Show. 221 West 26th Street (between Seventh and Eighth avenues). Sorry Martha does sit around and tell stories about her time locked up on the Martha Stewart Show. She hosts this daytime cooking and home show with how to segments and special celebrity guests. She focuses on food, home decor, crafts, gardening, and more. Go to the request form at MarthaStewart.com/get-tickets for tickets.

      9. The View. 320 West 66th Street, ABC. A female prospective on today’s events and news. This show is for the ladies. Current hosts are Barbara Walters, Whoopie Goldburg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd. For tickets go to http://www.theview.abc.go.com/tickets

      8. The Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert. 513 West 54th, Midtown. A direct spin off of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart except Colbert plays a caricature of a right winged, highly conservative Republican. Another sharp political satire show at 11:30pm after Stewart’s show on Comedy Central. The Colbert Report mocks conservative shows like the O’Reilly Factor on Fox. The hardest show to get tickets right now. Sometimes an unrelated musical guest gives a performance which has nothing to do with US politics or the show. Become part of the Colbert Nation and audience member by visiting http://www.colbertnation.com/tickets

      7. The Today Show. 30 Rockefeller Plaza, 1A, Rockefeller Center. The Today Show, NBC’s four hour morning show, has been broadcast since the 195os and is on tv from 7am to 11am Monday through Friday. The number one morning show in the US. Hosts include Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Ann Curry, and Al Roker. No in studio audience. For a chance to get on TV during the taping of The Today Show, stand outside in Rockefeller Plaza against the studio glass.

      6. Good Morning America. ABC’s Times Square Studios (building with live ticker and mega video screen in Times Square) 1500 Broadway, Times Square. Competes directly with NBC’s The Today Show. Like the Today Show, they allow crowds to gather outside the studio and to get a good chance to get on tv you need to be against the studio glass during taping.

  • Who Should Replace Joy Behar And Elisabeth Hasselbeck On The View? Joy is leaving, and apparently Hasselbeck is getting fired…(When will they decide to fire Sherri is my question…)

Who should replace Behar and Hasselbeck

Will The U.S. Ever Be Rid Of Ultra Right-wing Jingoists Like Elisabeth Hasselbeck? If you don’t know what a jingoist is, look it up now. It is an important word.
I guess I can do without the “right-wing” part since there are left-wing jingoists as well. I’m just so sick of living in the same country as idiots.
Secular Chicano – Are you fucking serious?
LauraWrites – Huh, I was unaware that I am part of the democratic party, according to your limited American view at least.

    • Curator says:

Looked at from outside, it is quite apparent that the USA is a highly conservative nation.

Britain, at the moment, has a more conservative government than it has had for a long while. The government it replaced, a Labour government, was also quite conservative [especially for a socialist party.] (They were far enough to the right, e.g., to actually take part in George W.’s hideous invasion of Iraq – although the Labour Prime Minister was lucky to avoid going to jail for war crimes as a result!) Effortlessly, the current ‘conservative’ government of Britain is dealing positively with gay marriage rights, etc., etc..

Compare that with poor Obama’s struggle to even get the world’s softest health care reforms into being. B. Obama, in the USA, is regarded as a ‘dangerous socialist’. Overseas, if he behaved as conservatively as he has had to do in the USA, even the Tories in Britain would be wary of him.

This situation is not necessarily altogether without merit. But to have a more compassionate government, a more socially progressive government, a lot needs to change. What needs to change?

[i] Donations to politicians from corporations and super-rich magnates (who often also donate to the other candidates competing for the ‘seat’) is a naked ploy to control parliamentary members. Once a politician is ‘owned’ by a corporation or a magnate, an honest approach to ideas presented in parliament is most unlikely.
If at all possible, this significant barrier to actual ‘freedom’ must ne erased by making these donations illegal.

[ii] The church, for some reason, has far, far too much power. The church, for all of its good intentions (if any), acts in much the same way as corporations: nakedly, and in defiance of ‘the separation of church and state’. The church, or the noisy part of it, is very, very Conservative, even reactionary, in the USA. The sometimes medieval nonsense that earns so much laughter overseas, and that is blamed on politicians, is, more than likely, the result of the church’s interference.
Laws already in existence need to be enforced. (A difficult task, I admit.)

[iii] The media in the USA is far from ideal, and usually the very opposite of unbiased. Tycoons such as Australian, Rupert Murdoch, who now controls so much media all over the world [and virtually owns the media in the USA], is an intelligent man who has a very, very right-wing outlook, and a cunning way of turning his ideas and political ambitions into ‘news’. Americans so often surprise people because of their ignorance when they go overseas. More than the US education system, it is the media of their country that is at fault here, I feel.
Over time, the Internet will solve much of this ‘appalling ignorance about anything outside the US borders’. As well, an independent broadcaster, financed by [but strictly independent of] the government (e.g. the BBC, etc.), has the ability to vastly improve the behaviour of the media of ANY country. For far too long have the American people been fed tainted ‘news’! For too long has ‘opinion’ been a substitute for ‘information’.

‘Right-wing jingoists’ exist everywhere in the world. In most places, however, they do not garner a large audience. In most places, they are not often members of parliament, linked with a church, or with a high level of access to journalists and the media in general. They are usually laughed at, and fade away rather quickly. If this doesn’t happen, they sometimes gain power, I admit, but the process of the gaining of this power makes them more transparent, at least. (‘Left-wing’ jingoists exist, too, of course.)

For all the ‘jingoistic’ talk about ‘Democracy’ in the USA, it is sad that the ultimate blame for the rather ‘backward’ political climate is, arguably, an escalating lack of effective democracy!

Edit: While this may have sounded patronising, it was said by one who is aghast at the number of times the USA has found ‘reason’ to invade another country. 73 times, and counting, since the mid-1950’s.
I blame an unhealthy political system for this appalling bullying, this rampant murder.
