  • Frontier Airlines Online Confirmation Reads ‘Cannot Select Seating’ Flying With A 4 And 1 Year Old. Now What? So apparently I am being punished for booking through Hotwire.com and the site is not allowing me to select my seats for a flight from my area to Las Vegas (for my sister’s wedding) in 11 or so days. Frontier Airline website just says that I am unable to select my seats. I am extremely concerned I am flying with a 1 year old and a 4 year old on about a 4 hour flight with one stop in Denver.

Is there anything I can look into to be sure my seats are obviously with my children? This is the first time traveling with the kids so I am trying to figure out if there is any rules or regulations to make sure I am with my kids?? Anyone have any insight flying with children?
Oh ok so if I check in early then I get to possibly select my seat?

Frontier will 100% make sure you are seated with your children. They will change the seats of other passengers to make this accommodation. You don’t need to worry about.

As a frequent flier, non-parent, who loves children until it’s time to pass them back (which I think gives me a different perspective than “the parents”), here are a few suggestions to make the trip easier for all of us:
      – my #1 issue…. please, please, please do not require that your children sit quietly waiting for the gate. Don’t let them get so wild that they will go over the edge. But allow them to be active while waiting so they are less active on the plane.
      – bring things that will entertain the children. A few new books wrapped up like a present so they feel special. Allow the 4 year old to play with electronic games if not normally allowed to, etc (another pet peeve… please please please make sure the volume is off for all electronic games and the children are using earphones if watching movies).
      – bring lots of little snacks. So they can be kept occupied.
      – you will board before other passengers. When you get to your seat please teach your children airplane etiquette. Show them how their legs hit the back of the seat in front of them easily (a 4yo is probably exactly in alignment with the chair) and how it bumps the seat. Also show them that tugging the seat in front of you is very uncomfortable (adults do this ALL THE TIME when getting up and down, when trying to squeeze through small spaces.

When my nephew was little he LOVED riding on the roller suitcase. He did from about ages 2-5. The last time he did it he said in a sad little voice “Auntie, I think I might be too big to do this next time we go on a trip”. We started because we could get through the airport so much faster with a rider than a walker.
      – it might not work easy with you holding the baby. But if you can figure it out, it will make your trip easier.

      Have fun. Enjoy your trip!
