  • Game Of Thrones Books Vs Show? I’ve watched game of thrones since season 1, but I haven’t read any of the books. What part of book 4 and or 5 (I know they are amalgamated to one point in time) is the show at as of last nights episode?

    • Curator says:

You should read from the beginning, the show leaves out and changes so much (especially season 3), but if you want to start where season 3 left off the best place to start reading is right after the Red Wedding which is about 2/3 of the way through A Storm of Swords (Chapters Catelyn VI & VII and Arya X & XI). The show has gotten a little past there but the show jumps around alot and covers different storylines at different speeds so that’s really the best place to start.

Should I Read Game Of Thrones Before Watching? I started reading “A Game of Thrones” on March 6th with the intent of reading the first three books, and watching the first three seasons before the April 6 premiere. But I fell behind and now it’s the Thursday before the Sunday premiere and I’ve read the first two books and watched the first 14 (out of 30) episodes. I calculated that I could catch up to the show within 2-3 weeks (I’ll be up to date by the time the 3rd episode of season 4 comes out), but that’s if I read the 3rd book (1100 pages) & watch the 16 episodes I have left.

However, if I skip the 3rd book for now, I could be up to date by this time next week, and I’d just read the book after.

So basically, should I spend extra time reading the book but then not be up to date as quickly, or should I go all the way and read it first, even if it means it will take longer?

Game Of Thrones Season 2 Question? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO SPOILERS JUST THIS SIMPLE QUESTION. I am onky on Season 2 Episode 4.

How did Stannis Baratheon get 100,000 troops before Robb even reaches Kings Landing? Seemed that all the sudden they were talking about people and metnioned…casually…that he has so many troops…I last heard Robb has 18000….sooo

    • Curator says:

Some of Renly’s followers went to stannis’ side. He also has all the men from dragonstone and surrounding areas. He has sell swords and pirates too.

If you look at a map kingslanding is a long way from winterfell and there was a lot of things slowing Robb down.
