Republican Libertarian Becomes Nominee. He Will Be Sucking Up Republican Votes? Is this God sent for Obama?

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson is campaigning to win the White House as a Libertarian after receiving scant attention in the Republican presidential race.

Johnson easily became the party’s presidential nominee at the Libertarian national convention in Las Vegas on Saturday. He hopes to appeal to voters fed up with the traditional two-party system this November.

Johnson was a longshot candidate for the Republican presidential nomination when he announced in December that he would instead pursue the Libertarian ticket.

He won 74 percent of the vote on the first ballot in Las Vegas, an unusual showing of support. In 2008, Libertarian delegates needed six rounds of voting to pick a presidential nominee.

Johnson supports legalized marijuana, low taxes and immigration reform.

He was elected New Mexico’s governor in 1994.

Question For Libs And Cons? Question for libs, if you were running for president who would you pick for VP?

    Russ Feingold?
    Howard Dean?

    Bernie Sanders?
    Dennis Kucinich?
    Sherrod Brown?
    Byron Dorgan?
    Alan Grayson?
    Elizabeth Warren?
    Tammy Baldwin?

Question for cons, if you were running for president who would you pick for VP

    Chris Christie?
    Marco Rubio?
    John Thune?
    Paul Ryan?
    Mike Huckabee?
    Rick Santorum?
    Ron Paul?
    Gary Johnson?
    Pat Buchanan?
    Jim Demint?

  • Who Should I Vote For For President This November? I’m not sure about Obama or Romney. They’re pretty much the same – pro-abortion, pro-Federal Reserve, pro-Income Tax, pro-Corporate Bail out, pro-Police State, pro-Insurance Mandate.

Maybe I should vote for Gary Johnson or write in Ron Paul?

  • Roy Hodgson Wants Rio And Terry Peace Talks…….the Question Is WHY? Terry is a good defender but is cancer

Rio is not even a good defender (these days)

the first move Roy does is to get them back on the England team? Rubbish. Did you see Aguero and Nasri running rings around Rio? Did you see RVP running Terry to the ground?

Frankly Gary Cahill has been brilliant and with options like Smalling, Lescott, Jones and Jagielka (and Michael Dawson if needed), England need not pick Terry and/or Ferdinand

Looks like Woy is a blast from the past (Sven)

‘Star’ XI can be expected – Hart, Johnson, Terry , Ferdinand, Cole, Walcott, Lampard, Gerrard, Parker, Young, Rooney

instead of the deserved candidates like M.Richards, Welbeck and other youngsters…

For once I have to agree with you! When Roy Hodgson was appointed and all the Qs were on the lines of “is he the right choice” I would say let’s wait and see what his first squads are like, see if he’s the nerve to offload the failures, then he said he wasn’t going to name any players for his squads yet, fair enough, but the next breath is Rooney is definitely going to the Euro’s and he wants to sort Tery and Ferdinand out, I am now sure nothing will change and wont be surprised when he says “Heskey was the first name on the team sheet”.
