Happy Memorial Day? Hi, I said Happy Memorial Day to the fallen soldiers who fought for USA in my other post and all these soldiers flipped out on me, called me stupid, and cursed me out. I didn’t mean any harm or anyone to feel offended. I was just thanking all of the fallen soldiers who passed fighting for us. I know anything isn’t happy about this day. But where I’m from (South Florida) everyone celebrates, goes to the beach, have a cookout, remember the soldiers who didnt come back alive, and cops along with fire fighters and some soldiers who are home have a parade down South Beach. Since anything isn’t happy about this day. How would I word it instead of say Happy Memorial Day?

Sorry to the soldiers who got offended in my other post 🙁 I didn’t mean any harm.

I Wanted To Request Military Records From The National Archives? Hi, i kind of had three questions about the National Archives i wanted to request my paternal grandfathers military records from the National Archives. He served in Korea. 1. How much will it cost for a DD214 and everything in his personal file. (estimate, how much you paid maybe) I don’t think he was injured or had any long list of service. He didn’t become an Officer/General.
    2. Since he is Paternal Grandfather, does that qualify me as a next of kin or not.
    3. If yes on next of kin, on the form it says proof (I.e death certificate, obituary, letter from funeral director). He passed away before I was born I do not have his death certificate. He did not have an obituary. I know he was buried at a National Cemetery (Fort Bliss). If I got a letter from them would that sufficient enough and how do I ask them for a letter. Thank you for your help and Happy Memorial Day

At Fleet Week On The USS Cole I Saw An Officer (LT) And A Seaman Talking Casually. Is This Common? Or is this officer an exception. (In a good or bad way.)

I could tell it was casual because I think they high-fived and they looked pretty “chill.”

Thank you and to any current or former servicemen/women I wanted to wish you a happy (not sure if that’s an appropriate word) and safe memorial day.
I just want to say that I know this is a good thing. I’m more asking whether or not this is common. Obviously this is a good sign that the officer and sailor have a mutual respect for each other.
