    How Come The Heysel Disaster Doesn’t Get As Much Attention As Hillsborough? I know Hillsborough resulted in far more casualties and can understand why it is remembered every year, but why not the Heysel disaster? More than 600 innocent Juventus fans injured with 39 dead, yet it never gets as much media attention as Hillsborough nowadays (both tragedies in their own rights). I

  • Why We Fell From Grace – Nobody Knocked Us Off Our Perch – Club Was Rocked By A Tragedy ? Ninety-six men, women and children died as a result of the Hillsborough Disaster on 15 April 1989.

    It remains the most serious tragedy in UK sporting history.

    In all honesty, the shockwaves of that tragedy had an adverse effect on LFC imo.

    After all….it caused King Kenny to put his resignation in back in feb 91….. leaving a massive gaping hole, a huge void to fill ….. but how ? who ? no way right ?? Liverpool F.C…..no way they’d get toppled or dethroned as Kings of English footie ?

    but yes.

    Hillsborough 89 was the reason we fell from grace.

    That tragedy shook the foundations of the club – and the truth is, we never really fully recovered from that since.
