Should I Get An Ipad? I am thinking about getting the new ipad air that came out today but I don’t know if it is worth it. I am going to college and I have an iPhone and MacBook Pro so I would have no problem with the user interface. Does anybody have experience using an ipad in college for notes and stuff and are the electronic books cheaper and better than hardcovers because I hate having to buy all these books and then they just sit in my room after the semester. Also should I get the 16 or 32 gb I don’t really want to pay for the 64 or 128 gb. Thanks

Hi! I have a macbook pro and an ipad. Instead of babbling on, here’s a list of pros and cons of having an ipad in my experience:

      1. Way more portable than a notebook.
      2. It’s easier to read your notes
      3. You can carry it with one hand (especially the ipad air)
      4. More accessible
      5. There are apps available where you can type notes and record lectures simultaneously (like evernote)
      6. Good battery life. with 10 hours, you’d be able to use this for the entire school day
      7. ebooks are cheaper. You don’t even have to buy them sometimes. I usually download on torrents for pdfs of books and then i transfer it on ibooks. No sweat.

      1. Harder to type than on a notebook. (i had a hard time keeping up with lectures sometimes especially if the profs are fast talkers. You can record their lectures but i still feel the need to type it so it’s quite annoying sometimes not to be able to keep up. Maybe i’m just more used to typing on a notebook)
      2. More prone to accidents. It’s durable of course, but it has a limit. I dropped my first one accidentally while i was reading an ebook and i ended up with a cracked screen. I had a protective case then, but that didn’t stop it from cracking.
      3. You become dependent to it for notes. When I broke my first ipad i had no idea how i would be able to transfer my notes when i needed them the most. Good thing my seatmate was taking down notes the traditional way. All my books were in my ipad so i was basically crippled when i lost it.

If you do plan on getting the iPad Air, I’d suggest you get the 32gb model. the 128gb and 64gb is too much and too expensive. The 16gb will barely get you through especially if you plan on putting books in it. my ebooks are usually 500mb per book so consider the 32gb model. It will get you through with a few GBs to spare just to be safe. I don’t buy my ipads with cellular because i don’t really need it and i think it’ll pul you to spend even more with monthly rates, wifi models are fine, there’s hardly a school nowadays without wifi. Plus, I had a pocket wifi so the cellular wasn’t really necessary for me.

IPad Mini With Retina Display Or IPad Air? I’m thinking about asking for either for Christmas but not sure which one, the iPad air would be good for pages so I can use it at college instead of my MacBook but the iPad mini s a lot cheaper and only a bit smaller. I would love the iPad air as it is faster and has the new apple tech like the A7 processor etc but it’s v pricey. Is the iPad mini good or am I better off with a bigger iPad? Ideally need 32gb but the iPad 2 only goes to 16gb which I have on my phone and isn’t enough for music/pictures. Help! Thanks x

  • Why Didn’t Apple Make The New “iPad Air” In Gold? I have the iPhone 5s in gold. I would’ve really liked if Apple had gave the option of making the iPad air in gold, in which I am getting for my birthday. Do you think they will eventually come out with one of that color?

Would You Buy An Iphone 5s Or An Ipad Air? Personally it’s a no bran inner for me.. I rather use a lousy iphone 4 and an iPad air anyway than an iPhone 5s alone… What do you guys think?
