Fantasy Baseball Trade Help? Hello, i am in a 6 man custom league where pitching is slightly scored higher than batters. My team is fairly weak at SS and I want to make a trade with someone who has 5 SS(Tulo,Castro,Hanley,Asdrubal, and Jeter) but he really wants pitching and is asking for too much. Can you guys just give me suggestions of which SS I should go after and what I should offer him. I really dont want Jeter, and this is the order that he values them in: Tulo, Castro, Hanley, Cabrera.
I really want Tulo but he is asking for A LOT! Here is my Team, give me some suggestions please, Thanks.

ACCEPT IT NOWWW!
Alex Gordon sucks, im sorry if you like him but last year was a fluke. He won’t come near his stats last season is what I said after the season, and he’s struggling at the moment so I guess I’m correct so far? 😛
Jeremy Hellickson is decent, but he is nowhere as good as his stats showed last season… well he might be in a couple of years, but not this season. He had the luckiest BIP ERA, Balls in play era last season among all pitchers in baseball. You can’t always be this lucky, and he will not be this season, espicially if your in the scaaaary AL East.
I’m not saying he’ll be awful, but he won’t be good as last season. Probably a mid 3 Era this year..
OK lets look at what you’re getting.
Andrew McCutchen is an amazing and underrated player. He is a gaurentee and has been for the past year or two for 20+ HRs 20+ Stolen bases and 80+ Rbi and Runs even in this terrible Pittsburg lineup. This guy stays healthy, plays everyday and is a heck of a fantasy player as he produces well in just about every hitting category. He’s off to a hot start, yes he will cool down but, he’ll still be amazing this year as his numbers can only improve from last year. And what is he, only like 26 years old?
Jose Valverde, 49/49 in saves opportunities last season. That’s just as good as it gets. Even though he isn’t perfect this year, he will get lots of saving chances as the Detroit lineup only got better this season with the acquisition of prince fielder and the maturity of many others. This guy ranks among the top AL closers as he will keep his Era, whip low while striking out decent amount of batters, while giving you the saves you need. Also, you said you’re weak on relievers so it’s a plus plus.
ALSOO hellickson is on your bench, Gordon is on your bench. Your starting pitching is excellent so you don’t need Hellickson as you could probably pick up someone from waivers better than him. (Lance Lyn, Jonathan Niese, Carlos Zambrano, etc).
So yeah, this is one of the greatest fantasy trade you will receive, so if you don’t accept it, all I can do is laugh 😛

Your batters are definitely good, but your pitching is mediocre at best. Trade some bats for pitching and you’ll be fine
I Need Confirmation On A Players ERA? Jered Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels currently has pitched 20.2 innings and has 5 earned runs. When I apply the formula to figure out his ERA it comes out to 2.23. But all the sporting sites list him with an ERA of 2.18. I know my math is correct, what am I missing?
You used the formula correctly, but 20.2 innings is 20 and 2/3 innings, so try 20.6666667 in your formula. I just tried it with both 20.2 and 20.66666667 on my calculator so I could see if that is where you made your mistake before answering, and it is.
Admittedly, unless you’re really paying close attention it’s a very easy mistake to make.
