Kirk Cousins

Pasquarelli: Redskins pull curious move with Cousins

Sat, 28 Apr 2012 14:20:37 -0700 Just for the record, Kirk Cousins actually won more games in college than Robert Griffin III (27-23), and in one fewer start (39-40), and so the notion that the Washington Redskins would actually select the former Michigan State standout in the fourth round on Saturday is not altogether ludicrous.–nfl.html

Sat, 28 Apr 2012 08:36:00 -0700 COMMENTARY | Projecting Michigan State Spartans quarterback Kirk Cousins as a late first-rounder in the 2012 NFL Draft was probably a bit of a stretch.–nfl.html

Washington used its second pick overall Thursday to take Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Robert Griffin III from Baylor.

If The Redskins Wanted Kirk Cousins, Why Did They Trade Four Picks For RG3? Are they really drafting a backup? It seems like he’s drafting a more traditional quarterback if RG3 struggles. Instead of surrounding RG3 with other needs on the team, you draft a QB?
He and his son will be fired by seasons end next year.
Ah, @David. How could I forget.

Shanahan did not jettison picks to St. Louis just to have Griffin hold the QB Clipboard whilst Cousins sling the skin up and down the field. Bob is starting!

More than likely, Shanahan wanted a Stop Gap, because ONE NEVER KNOWS WHEN INJURY rears its ugly head on even the most coveted quarterback*. (*see Peyton Manning).

      Biggie Note:
Kirk Cousins is an amazing prospect and could be a STARTER ON ANOTHER TEAM, and knowing Shanahan’s penchant for not taking slack from egomaniacal quarterbacks, do not doubt for a second Shanahan putting Kirk behind Center JUST TO MAKE A POINT TO Bob Griffin = zip your lip or sit your a$$ down! Shanahan is King in Washington DC at the moment and he will flex his rule when needed when it comes to separating the boys from the men.

Cousins is 6′ 3”, 202 but is predicted to pack on NFL weight in the weight-room. Experienced Big Ten QB possessing natural leadership ability, works well off play-action, sells the play-fake expertly, and has nice touch when asked to place bucket-throws into receivers down field.
