Lollapalooza

Everyone has been talking about Lollapalooza lately. We thought we would add our own take on it.

Opening day of Lollapalooza arrives

2 August 2013 | 9:42 pm A little rain did not hamper Lollapalooza's opening Friday. The three-day, 30-hour, 130-band mega-concert is expected to draw 270,000 people to the park, and fatten the city's wallet by more than $4 million. http://chicagotribune.feedsportal.com/c/34253/f/622809/s/2f7eb23e/sc/8/l/0L0Schicagotribune0N0Cnews0Cchi0Elollapalooza0Eday0Eone0Ereview0E20A130A7290H0A0H2823880A0Bcolumn0Dtrack0Frss/story01.htm

Rainy start to day one of Lollapalooza

2 August 2013 | 8:14 pm Lollapalooza opened in Grant Park on Friday to — what else? — rain and a soggy turf that required wood chips to be imported and portions of Hutchinson Field to be roped off. Inclement weather is now a regular visitor at this festival, especially after a major storm prompted a brief evacuation last year. http://chicagotribune.feedsportal.com/c/34253/f/622896/s/2f7e09e8/sc/38/l/0L0Schicagotribune0N0Centertainment0Cchi0Elollapalooza0Eday0Eone0Ereview0E20A130A7290H0A0H16764960Bcolumn0Dtrack0Frss/story01.htm

Cool Things To Do With My 12 Year Old Brother? Im 17 years old im a guy and my life up to this point has been isolated from my family.

Ive been a heroin addict since i was 14 and my idea of “fun” was non existent at his age and I’m pretty sure hes the same way. So i turned to drugs at 12 and it progressed to heroin within 2 years.

but I’m a little over 3 months clean now through god and AA and I am trying my hardest to build a relationship with my family that was never there. I would hate to see my brother fall down the same path I did but like I said. Hes just like me. And honestly I dont find a lot of things enjoyable.

but tomorrow all my friends will be at lollapalooza and my girlfriend is out of town so I figured that instead of lying around all day I can think of something fun to do with my brother (he doesnt have a lot of friends and he really looks up to me)

but i dont know what to do. so if theres any 12 year olds on here that have an idea of what is fun for them, or anyone else who thinks they have something let me know.

I was contemplating taking him to the city (I live about an hour away from chicago) and maybe visiting the shedd aquarium or the willis tower. any other ideas?

Hooking Up At Music Festivals? Im going to lollapalooza and this will be my first time. I am hoping i can meet some guys there and make out with them a little. How should i go about this though? Please dont call me a slut or anything because im really not. I just need some tips on getting guys at concerts.

  • Do You Know If I Can Listen To The Lollapalooza Artists From Outside The Arena? I couldn’t get any tickets to lollapalooza, so I was wondering if I could still listen to the music from outside.

What Should I Wear To Lollapalozza? Hii I’m going to Lollapalooza for the first time and I have no idea what to wear. I’m not confident enough to show my stomach so please no bikini tops, bras, or bandeaus. Thank you

What Kind Of Bag Should I Bring To Lollapalooza? I’m going to lollapalooza this weekend, and I’m not really sure what type of bag to bring. Some items I will be bringing are:

water bottle (either plastic or reusable, not quite sure yet)
    sunscreen (mini if possible)
    handsanitizer (mini)
    cash
    cellphone
    map/schedule

I’d like to just wear a fanny pack and call it a day, but I’m not sure if that’s the best way to go. Is it bad to keep all your belongings on your person? I’d prefer to have it all with me so I don’t have to worry about running back to a locker or something, but if that is not safe, then I’ll do what I need to do. Also, I don’t even know if all the things I planned on bringing will fit in a fanny pack…..

SO. Does a fanny pack work? And if not, do you bring a bigger bag and carry it around with you?
Personal experience would be great. Thanks!!
