Mexico vs. Honduras: Final score 1-2 as El Tri melts down

7 September 2013 | 4:04 am Horrendous home performances have become the norm for Mexico under 'Chepo' Jose Manuel de la Torre, but even the most pessimistic of Mexico supporters probably didn't think they'd see as disastrous of a second half as they saw at Estadio Azteca on Friday night. Why Won’t Univision Show The USA Vs Costa Rica Game? Seriously this is madness. I live in SoCal and the only channel that passes U.S soccer is Univision (channel 34 and 46). I want to watch the USA vs Costa Rica game but they are not going to show it, instead they are going to show the Mexico vs Honduras game. WTF this is the USA and I want to watch the USA team play not Mexico or Honduras. Why is Univision so biased to Mexico despite broadcasting in the US. They don’t mind interrupting 2 hours of their regular programming to show the Mexico game plus another hour for the preview and the post game commentary but they rather show some whack novelas and stupid shows instead of broadcasting the US game. What has this country come to?
That’s lame I have to pay extra money to watch my own team play, yet I get to watch neighboring teams play for free??? This makes no sense.

MFS: How Is Soccer Going So Far? Ive been to busy with my studies. So Mexico is playing tonight? Or what?

Ever since I enrolled in college soccer has been increasingly unexisting, which is upsetting to say, because I was really really into it. But it’s so hard to catch up. (I don’t know how people can watch three leagues at a time)

The soccer world has been hectic, as always. Not sure if the transfer window is closed or not but Bale to Madrid. Ozil to Arsenal. Fellaini to Man U. Higuain to Napoli. etc.. etc..

Yeah, Mexico play vs. Honduras tonight. If Mexico win, it’s not 100% certain they go to the World Cup, but they’ll be at a much more comfortable spot. It’s safe to say Jamaica are officially knocked out. CONCACAF really needs four teams. (Even if you rank fourth playoff spot the playoff game will be some easy oceania contender) Panama don’t look too bright right now. So they’re another knock off.

I’ve been told, that if Chepo loses this game, that they’re going to fire him. It’s an important game. It’s home, and Mexico haven’t been winning their home games much. This should be an advantage, but Mexico are throwing it away. They should have gotten nine pts already just from home.

My other Mexican friend told me that he hopes Chicha get’s benched, cause he hasn’t been playing his fullest either.

  • Mexico Line Up Vs Honduras? It’s rumoured that this will be the line up

    —————-Corona
    Meza–Reyes–Moreno–Salcido
    —-Arce–Torrado–Chaco
    Gio——————–Reyna
    ————-Peralta

    Another possibility going around is

    —————-Corona
    Meza–Reyes–Moreno–Salcido
    ——-Arce–Torrado–Chaco
    ——Gio—————–Guardado
    —————-Peralta

I would prefer the second line up with Reyna in for Chaco. And Reyna/Guardado swap positions.

    Thoughts?

Possible Starting Lineup For Mexico Vs. Honduras? Based on Chepo logic he will go with this: 4-4-1-1
    —————–Corona
    Meza–Maza–Moreno–Salcido
    ———–Zavala—Torrado
    Aquino——————Guardado
    —————–Gio
    —————Chicharito

    I prefer this lineup: 4-2-3-1

    ——————Corona
    Meza—-Maza—–Moreno—Salcido
    ————-Torrado—–Arce
    Aquino———–Chaco——-Gio
    —————–Peralta

With Peralta in the starting lineup, the offense works as a team. Honduras expects Chepo to use the ChicharitoDependancy offense because Chicharito is rarely benched for El Tri. Chicha is a very constant starter, and for Chepo he is too valuable.

Those Chepo quotes are just by his logic and way of thinking. You can pretty much guess what he would say in press conferences.

    • Curator says:

I think this lineup is better imo.
      ——————Corona
      Meza—-Reyes—–Moreno—Salcido
      ————-Zavala—–Arce
      Gio———–Chaco——-Reyna
      —————–Peralta

Zavala should start over Torrado because he’s old and isn’t what he used to be. I think Aquino should be a super sub along with Chicharito. But knowing Chepo He’ll most likely will start Torrado and Chicharito since he will play it safe and not take risk since it’s a world cup qualifier.
