I Need A Creative Title For My Essay. Can You Help? The essay is a consumer culture essay about abercrombie and fitch and the CEO mike jeffries.

    This is my thesis statement:

Jeffries’ position that only certain people should be able to wear his clothes is wrong because exclusivity can greatly lower peoples’ self-esteem and have them questioning their own self-worth.

I dont want the title to be overly serious so can you please help me come up with one?
    thanks! 🙂

Mike Jeffries, the 61-year-old CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch

The man behind Abercrombie & Fitch
Mike Jeffries turned a moribund company into a multibillion-dollar brand by selling youth, sex and casual superiority. Not bad for a 61-year-old in flip-flops.

Why Can’t People See That George Karl And The Media Who Latched To His Words Regarding Melo Are Full Of It? Melo is not to blame with the roller coaster that has been the NY Knicks these last 2 years. A decade of non-relevance with ownership/management incompetence and a couple of other factors are.

George Karl sour that Melo expressed his wishes to leave DEN let it all out in the open calling Melo a selfish player and a team-killer. However, not then and even now has there been a teammate of Melo’s that has called him these things. In fact, George Karl has had some of the most talented NBA teams with nothing to show for it in his career. And the media takes to his words because GARBAGE generates $$$.

People say that the Knicks were better before Melo. And that the Denver Nuggets are better post-Melo. However, look at the players DEN received because Melo is that good. Danilo Gallinari who I think is a stud with a ton of upside and is only going to get better, Wilson Chandler a very good player on both ends of the floor, and Raymond Felton who thankfully NY has back and was the reason why DEN was able to get a proven vet leader like Andre Miller.

Even with all this. DEN has never finished with the 3rd best record in the West nor have they been to the WCF like what Melo led them to when he was the franchise player. In fact even though DEN practically still has the same records as they had with Melo. They still haven’t made it past the first round of the playoffs in the post-Melo era.

Also as good as Gallo, Chandler, and Felton were on the Knicks. The Knicks when the trade was made were 23-21 (not exactly contenders despite getting back into relevance after a decade long hiatus). The Knicks completely gutted their roster in a Dolan/Isiah like matter instead of listening to Donnie Walsh who was intent on bringing Melo in through FA and keeping Gallo, Chandler, and Felton intake in NY. Instead with a gutted roster of course there would be chemistry issues more so that the trade was done mid-way through the season.

Furthermore, Stoudemire and Billups injured themselves towards the end of the season. Leaving Melo to fend for himself against a proven vet Boston team. Melo recorded a 42 point, 17 rebound, 6 asst, 2 blk game and in an elimination game dished out 10 asst. With no Billups and no Stat, Melo had to rely on an unreliable bunch of playoff rookies and over-the-hill veterans/bench players having to start: Landry Fields, Shawne Williams, Toney Douglas, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, Roger Mason, & Jared Jeffries.

Last season because of the lockout Melo-Stat and their new core player of Tyson Chandler weren’t able to have a full training camp together. The lockout as it did with a lot of players took its toll on Melo. At one point he was trying to play through 3 injuries that put a hamper on his game and the team’s success.

Also the Knicks were much better on defense with Chandler but when he sat out the interior defense struggled to prevent opposing baskets. Also Mike D continued to make unneccessary defensive switches. This can be why Melo didn’t put forth a full effort on defense with Mike D which is something he’s always been criticized of. When Woodson took over the Knicks finished 5th in defensive efficiency holding teams to 91.8 PPG and Melo put forth a great effort on d showing that when he want s to he can be a effective defender.

More on Mike D. The Knicks didn’t have a PG which is necessary to have in a PG centered system like the one Mike D runs. Nor did it have perimeter scorers other than Melo and Steve Novak and on the rare occassion his jumper was falling Stoudemire. These are two things Mike D system is centered on. A coach is supposed to make a change when he sees that his personnel doesn’t fit into his system which is something Mike D never did where Mike Woodson did.

Knowing that the Knicks didn’t have a PG Mike D was still unwilling to give Lin a chance. Melo was the one that asked him to play Lin. Linsanity provided NY with some revitalization but he isn’t the PG NY needed either. Lin looks too much for his offense for a PG, is turnover prone, and even needed help bringing ball up. Toney Douglas was a SG tried at PG a failed experiment. Bibby sucked. And Davis was practically out all year and playing catch up when he did return. Shump could play point but he looks for his o too much too and is a rookie so he wasn’t free from careless error.

Injuries also played a factor again. Stat injured himself stupidly. Shump the team’s best perimeter defender was out during playoffs. Chandler was playing hurt and sick. Davis fell down. And Lin too got injured despite being 85% healthy and able to go but was scared he’d be exposed by MIA in a contract yr if he did.
Ppl say Melo is selfish but look at what he had to work with in playoffs

Fields- disappears in months leading up to playoffs and in playoffs. Passes up wide-open shots
Smith- Never passes up shots and made bonehead decisions in playoffs
Novak- was completely swarmed by MIA defense and tried to put ball on the floor; not his game = turnover

Melo scored 40+ points twice on a defense as great as MIA’s twice last season. And a near 40 point performance with 35 in another. And it was against various defenders. All good ones too: LeBron, Battier, D.Wade, & Haslem.

They gone have a hard time beating the heat celtics pacers nets bulls or 76ers this year because i think they got abit worse with getting kid camby thomas wallace who all are a year or two away from retirement plus the nuggets are the better team rightnow in my opinion

  • Who’s A Better Defender KD Or Melo? When Mike Woodson took over as head coach Melo played the longest stretch of inspired/aggressive defense of his career which really catipulted NYK’s already improved d to new heights. Knock on Melo has always been he’s a lazy defender but when engaged he is an effective man to man defender especially in the post with his brute strength and laterl quickness. When Woodson took over as head coach Melo averaged 2 SPG, 1 BPG, and held his opponents normally PF’s/SF’s to 8.9 PPG (Granger, Garnett, etc.) The year before Knicks were 27th in overall defense. With Woodson they finished 5th and were the most defensively efficient team towards season’s end holding teams to 80 points on a nightly basis. Under Woodson Knicks gave up 91.8 PPG.

As for KD personally I’ve never seen him play very good defender. Pretty bad defense is more like it. Brooks is a defense first type of coach. Thunder last season gave up 100 points and weren’t that good in defensive efficiency. Despite the fact that Thunder have better defensive players than Knicks like Thabo Sefolosha > Landry Fields, Serge Ibaka/Kendrick Perkins/Nick Collison >>>> (by far) Amar’e Stoudemire. Knicks had Chandler, Shumpert, and Jeffries as great defenders only. Also OKC was fully healthy and gave up more than 110+ PPG in a playoff series v MIA. NYK were injured and held MIA to less than 100+ PPG in their series.

Melo is an amazing player best scorer in the leauge in my opinion hes really strong to and quick for his size like you said when he wants to he can be really effective and he said he plans on focusing more on his Dfence this year im really excited to see him play this year if hes seriously gonna play harder on that end of the court cause again hes such a strong player he could lock down anyone if he puts his mind to it
