  • Why Is It Common For Older Genrations To Look Down On The Younger? For most older people, mellenials are critisized as being lazy slackers too concerned with social media and video games. But what about the generation before that? We’re they criticized at all for something else?

“Why is it common for older genrations to look down on the younger?”

Obviously this is a bit of a stereotype, but it’s true to a large degree: Each generation adopts its own set of values, which may not coincide with those of previous generations. When new technology and lifestyles enter the picture, that compounds the problem because members of the previous generations may not “get” it.

Social media and multiplayer video games are how millenials keep in touch with each other, but understandably some members of earlier generations who don’t have much to do with that just see it as a big waste of time, frivolous, and possibly “morally corrupting”

“But what about the generation before that? We’re they criticized at all for something else?”

Yes. Ever heard the slogan, “rock & roll is the devil’s music?” The “radio” generation (those born in the 20s and 30s) criticized the baby boomer generation for abandoning Glenn Miller, Tony Bennett and Vera Lynn to go over to Elvis Presley and the Beatles. There were even a bunch of fundamentalist Christian preachers who claimed that rock was an evil invention of the devil designed to seduce the youth!! On top of that, the boomer generation got criticized for spending hours talking to people on the phone because keeping in touch with people meant face-to-face interaction for the radio generation.

Noted: Rant; I’ve probably said this half a dozen times but what exactly do movie goers want to see? We hear it all the time about the “Lacking Originality” of Hollywood which is piss poor excuse for “I saw that movie trailer and didn’t like it” lingo for those who don’t even bother going to view movies, but I have a question. Movies like Lone Ranger, Pirates of the Caribbean, Resident Evil and several other movies get panned for being Special Effect driven stale pieces of drivel or not like the original concept; yet Micheal Bay’s Transformers Series, White house Down, Pacific Rim, 2 Guns, We’re The Millers, The Conjuring, Paranormal Activity, Final Destination, Kick-***/Kick-*** 2, Paranoia, The Hunger Games, You’re Next, Elysium, The newest garbage horror film earns millions a film? Please explain to me how logic works in this scenario, it’s like people that complain Television is garbage yet pander to marathons of Law & Order, CSI, Criminal Mind or 1,000 Ways To Die.
