    • Curator says:

Tonya Harding conspired with her husband to injure Nancy Kerrigan, Harding’s rival in the Olympics. I don’t remember if it was the husband or a friend, but someone in their camp hit Kerrigan in the leg with a pipe.

The Winter Oylmpics Should Be The Same Year As The Summer Olympics As It Was Up Until 1992.? Changing it was ridiculous. 1994 Winter Olympics was marred by the Tonya Harding and the Nancy Kerrigan scandal. The World Cup and Commonwealth Games are both held during this year and every 4 years afterwards. Bring back the Winter Olympics in line with the Summer Olympics – agree or disagree?

Can Someone Please Help Me With This Trivia Question I Don’t Remember This Figure Skater In The 90’s? I grew up in the 90’s (born in 86), but I don’t remember this lady at all. I remember Tara Lypinski, Nancy Kerrigan, Tonya Harding, Kristy Yamaguchi, Michelle Kwan, but I’m drawing a blank with this figure skater. I’m playing the “Guess he 90’s” game on my phone and I can’t buy a hint to who she is. She has 5 letters in her first name and 7 letters in her last name. She has or had blonde hair. Does anyone remember her or know her name? Please help me!

Ashley Wagner And Mirai Nagasu 2014? Is anybody else pissed that Ashley is going to Sochi in February? I’ve heard all the reasons she should go such “Ashley earned the US that third spot” so that means that no matter what Ashley would’ve gotten that olympic spot? why even have nationals? if ashley’s spots were pre determined then why cant Agnes go instead of Polina as she has more experience or Rachel Flatt instead of Gracie? Whats the point? Also, polina at 15 years still has her youth to skate at the 2018 olympics so why in the world are we sending someone without any senior international experience over someone that has placed FOURTH at the 2010 olympics. And dont tell me that Mirai has fallen off the radar. She proved herself on saturday while ashley choked under pressure and if Ashley can’t control herself at nationals how can she perform well at the olympics with 10x more pressure? This is bull.

And to add to that note why arent Caydee and John going if everything is predetermined? They have far more success in the international field. The committee needs to get their act together and I can’t wait to see them embarrassed as Ashley chokes in February.

So yeah. I just had to get that off my chest. What do you think about the results?

    • Curator says:

I know they go by international experience, but if that is the case then why didn’t they apply the same rules to Denney and Coughlin or Max Aaron? Why didn’t they leave Polina Edmunds(who has zero senior experience) off? I hate seeing one standard applied to Wagner but another to everyone else.

I feel as though this is all money related. Ashley Wagner has far too much money and far too many endorsements to be left off the Olympic team. It would be embarassing to all the sponsors and her coaching team. Plus NBC needs a golden girl and Lindsey Vonn isn’t there. It’s all so blatantly political and shady as hell. I know people will say “ashley got us three spots”, no Ashley and Gracie earned us three spots, and if that is the case why bother having Ashley compete at all? Why not just say “a spot is already reserved for Ashley Wagner” right off the bat?

Mirai is no longer a favorite, she had a falling out with Frank Carroll and has had a rough 4 years but she really proved herself this season. Ashley is now the favorite along with Gold and Edmunds. If you can’t see politics and favoritism at work then you are blind.

You cannot compare this to Michelle Kwan in 2006 and Nancy Kerrigan in 1994, both were injured both were world medalist and experienced Olympians. Comparing the situations is ignorant and quite frankly insulting.

I am so pissed that I am boycotting Covergirl, clearly they support this type of garbage and are a driving force behind it. My money can go elsewhere. The USFSA and Olympics are no longer an amateur world stage but a cornucopia of corporate politics and favoritism.

    • Curator says:

Tonya Harding’s husband (or ex husband) and a buddy of his were charged. Nancy went on to win the gold medal at the Olympics and Tonya ended up on Celebrity Wrestling, lived in a trailer park and was banned from competitive ice skating for life.

    • Curator says:

Jeff Gilooley and one of his cronies attacked Nancy Kerrigan. Gilooley was Tonya Harding’s husband at the time, and he was trying to help his wife win the gold at the Winter Olympics.

An investigation showed that Tonya Harding herself was behind the attack, and as a result is banned from competitive skating for life.
