Ive Got A Real Issue With Nascar Going Forward…? During tonight’s race at Richmond I was watching and up until the last caution the race was one of the best in my opinion. Newman had rallied, doing what he had to, to assure a chase berth, Gordon had gone from the lead, to 2 laps down, to 8th. Bowyer then spins off of turn 4 to bring out a caution, the thing that looked weird was that he was so low coming off the corner when his car broke free and went around. A great explanation was made and brought up good points, how did Bowyer randomly lose two laps at the end of the race? And why did Vickers lose a lap and run a 33.9 second lap on the final lap?

Did anyone see the incar or hear Clint’s radio and what do you think went on there?

I am a Gordon fan and did not view anything as weird just because I want to be above that. I feel like he handled it well and I am proud of the rebound they had. As far as I am concerned Gordon lost a spot in the chase when he didn’t win all season, besides, Kurt Busch, Biffle, and Newman deserved to get in before he did the way they ran tonight.

I was originally worried about who I would be a fan of when Gordon left Nascar, but I feel like Nascar has made my decision for me because I more than likely wont watch Nascar after Gordon retires.

What is your opinion on the issues at Richmond tonight? Did MWR do anything wrong?
If so what would your penalty be if a team tried to fix a race?
    Id say
    -150 point penalty.
    – DQing all cars the team ran that night and dropping them down the order
    – 1 year ban, aka next year, for the entire team
    – 100k fine for all drivers and crew chiefs within the team that tried to cheat
    – 10 race suspension for all crew chiefs on the teams found guilty
Bowyer radio around 9 to go, before the spin
CC: “39 is going to win”
    Clint: “Well that kinda sucks”
CC: “Is your arm starting to hurt?” (WTF!?)
CC: “I bet its hot in there”
    Clint: “Oh yeah”
    *Spin*

Dale Jr brought up a good point that we can probably see the incar telemetry (Throttle and Brake) to see if Clint tried to save the car

  • Is It Time For Jeff Gordon To Retire From NASCAR Or Does He Still Have It.? He hasn’t won a lot in the last 5 seasons he won 2 in 2009 then he went winless in 2010, won 3 in 2011, 2 races last season and so far, he’s has zero wins this year and almost made the chase only to blow it on the last restart of tonight’s race to end his chances of winning a championship this year. sure he’s had good races and bad races in the past couple of seasons.

big question is, does Jeff Gordon still have it or is it time for him to start looking at life after NASCAR.

i worried for Jeff as he’s still can get top 5s and top 10s but has yet to break through and win one this season and he’s been in 2 straight up and down seasons. he’s the reason why i became a NASCAR fan and i now root for not just him but all of the Hendrick Motorsports stable of drivers. with Jimmie Johnson my favorite now.

do you think Jeff Gordon still has it or is it time for him to retire from NASCAR.

    • Curator says:

No, not yet, but he has definitely seen his better days in NASCAR; with his age, that is expected, though. While bad luck has plagued him a bit the last couple of years, he just isn’t the high caliber driver that he used to be. I don’t personally think that he “should” retire, but Jeff doesn’t strike me as one to be a field filler, which he is slowly turning into. If this mediocrity continues throughout the next few seasons, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit to see him retire.

Who knows, though. Junior was basically in the same position not long ago at all and a crew chief change proved to be a lifesaver for him; perhaps the same could happen for Jeff, if that team decides to take that route in the off-season.

Question For Nascar Nation? Would you rather drive for a competitive Nationwide team or a underfunded Sprint Cup team?
To clarify would you rather drive for Front Row Motorsports in Cup or drive for JGR in Nationwide?
