Athiests: How Will You Be Celebrating This Year’s National Day Of Prayer? The U.S. Congress humbly dedicated the first Thursday of May to be recognized as the “National Day of Prayer,” wherein we celebrate all the teachings of Christ and the Lord your God as He would want. So, athiests, I just want to know if you will put aside your absurd beliefs for ONE DAY out of the year and join us Christians hand-in-hand in a nationwide holy communion. All I ask is one day, after which you can resume your sinful activities such as “disbelieving” and in some cases, fornication, homosexuality, bestiality, and whatever else it is you barbarians do, seeing as how you don’t subscribe to any moral code…

Please Remember National Day Of Prayer.? Pray for our world leaders, the peace of Jerusalem and people in general across the globe. Also that the will of God be done in the earth as it is done in heaven. Thanks everyone.

It has biblical precedent. When a monumental crisis looms, then a nation needs to get serious about entreating God. That’s what happened to the Jewish people in the time when Esther was queen of the Persian king. A plot was hatched to get all the Jewish people killed; Esther was told about it, and commanded those around her, “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my mainds will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:15-17)

Jewish fasting was always accompanied with praying. So here we have THREE days of intense supplication before God, seeking his help to avert a national disaster. And God responded by using Esther to save the day.

Yes, believers should pray every day, but when a whole nation takes time to pray for national matters, that nation shows it’s serious before God.
