Whats The Side Effects Of The Birth Control Ortho Tri-cyclenlo ? .? I went to planned parenthood && they gave me these birth control pills . but what are the side effects ? does it make me get a light period ? the guy told me that at the begining ima feel sick but how long would it last ? thanks (:

  • Planned Parenthood Over Priced Bill? Went to get treated for an std at a planned parenthood because all other clinics would not have been able to treat me till another month and a half. They gave me some antibiotics and when it was time to pay they told me it would be 200 but to pay whatever I could and donations from other people would pay the rest of my bill. So I paid $100 plus donated $30 and was told that was the end of that. 6 months later (last week) I get a bill in the mail saying I owe them $500 dollars! They charged me every month for not paying and now it added up to $500. I was told the donations would cover it and if it didn’t why didn’t they give me a call or send a letter earlier to avoid this $400 late fee instead of waiting 6 months to charge me more. What are my options here I can’t pay $500 for an std test and treatment that is just ridiculous. Thanks a lot

Should My Girlfriend And I Have Sex? Brace yourselves, folks; this is a bit long winded and is actually three questions rolled into one. I’m in a bit of a pickle, and I was hopping to get y’all’s opinions before thinking any more on the matter.

My girlfriend and I have been going out for about a year now. Things have been absolutely wonderful; I’ve always described her as the sort of girl all men dream of having. We’ve never gone past second base, although she seems to be very comfortable around me in the physical sense. I love her to death; along with my studies, she’s the most important thing in my life, and I treasure everything about her. We’ve been exclusive for a long time, we’re very communicative and emotionally intimate, and we love each other deeply.

She left for school a while ago, but we’re not too far away. We’re still maintaining our relationship and everything is going wonderfully so far. I did, however, notice something interesting. It seems that every night since she left, I’ve had dreams about her, and not just dreams. It seems that every time she’s in them, we have sex at some point, whether it’s implied (as in, I don’t actually see it in the dream, but know it’s happening from a feeling in my gut), or I can see it occur. Don’t get me wrong, lots of other things happen between us, and sex certainly isn’t the only thing on my mind when it comes to her; these are just the most memorable portions.

I’m a big believer in the subconscious messages that dreams send us; my dreams almost always reflect what’s going on in my head under the surface. Thus, this was kind of a revelation to me: I have no idea what put the idea in my head, but this dream made me realize that I’m emotionally ready to take our relationship to the next step, whereas I was previously very nervous about the concept.

That brings me to the issue of bringing it up to her. She’s nervous about sexualish things at first, but seems to grow more comfortable with them as we experiment. I’ve read lots of help boards from people saying to watch out for her body language, and determine from that whether she’s grown comfortable enough around me, but for the life of me I can’t call up exact things she did in the past when it came to signals. So that’s the first question:

    1) Knowing that I feel emotionally ready, how do I go about exploring the topic (poking around it to test the waters), or, if need be, asking point blank? I’ve always been extremely careful about how I approach sexual issues, because I never want to take her beyond her comfort zone, or inadvertently pressure her into something she doesn’t really want to do. This is tricky for me, being that we’re both virgins. This is why I’m taking it so slowly and carefully. I didn’t want to waste my first sexual experience on a one night stand; I wanted it to be with someone truly special, and I definitely think she’s the one.

So, assuming that she feels ready as well, that brings me to my next question:

    2) What contraceptive (or combination of them) would be most effective at averting pregnancy? While we’ve never seriously talked about having sex, we’ve talked about pregnancy in ordinary conversations, and this much is for sure: we’re both terrified of it. Before you recommend birth control pills, I should mention that she doesn’t like the idea of using them. As I see it, things that would be available to use would be the easier-to-acquire ones, like condoms, spermicide, diaphragms, pulling-out, etc. In considering it, I had considered pulling out while using condoms and spermicide, but what are your methods?

With that question in mind, it brings me to probably the most important one of all: from your experiences, what advice can you give me? Assuming we both feel ready, I know this will be entirely new territory for the both of us. Neither of us have done, well, anything even remotely sexual except with each other, so we’re very close and exclusive in that sense. But is there any advice you can give me, either emotionally or functionally?

I’m pretty mixed up at the moment, so your input means a lot to me. Thanks everyone!
Thanks Stephanie! Oh yeah, I’m well aware that pulling out in itself isn’t a contraceptive method; I was referring to doing that while wearing a condom to reduce the possibility of breakage. I think you’re absolutely right; I’ll bring it up in the right context and see what the answer is. I already know that I’ll be fine with it either way.

    • Curator says:

Tell her what you’ve told us about your feelings of readiness, and be your sincere self, it should be fine. As for birth control, you could both consult either a doctor or a planned parenthood clinic, but each person needs to make an informed choice based upon what’s best for them. I should mention that “pulling out” is akin to no birth control at all. Did you know, a girl can get pregnant anyway? There are live sperm in your fluids, that can swim just as well as any that are ejaculated. Your idea of using more than one method has validity, since no single method is 100 percent foolproof. However, some are better than others, and you may be doing overkill, to employ more than you will need. Gilding the lily , as they say. The only method that is one hundred percent effective is abstinence.

Don’t worry about inexperience or readiness, if you both feel you wish to pursue this. Nature has a way of taking care of things. If you each listen to what the other says, if you talk to one another, if you share your feelings emotionally and try to tell each other what turns you on or what you’d like to try, everything will be fine.

You are in a good place, actually, since you are one of the few advice seekers who has taken the time to develop a relationship outside of bed, before jumping in the sack prematurely. Your values are in the right place, and you are ready to explore your dreams in reality.

So,take it easy, relax. Keep talking to one another. Be safe, and be happy together. ~ Dr. Stephanie

Not many people do support them. They’re becoming more and more aware of what they stand for and who they support. The very rich and powerful. I think their backs are against the wall, Having taken handouts for favors for the people that want to rule the world with modern day slavery while they reap the benefits. All the benefits.
