What Is The Definition Of A Perfect Game In Baseball? Is the perfect game in baseball 81 strikes?
27 pitches each with an out scored?
27 batters up and out with any number of pitches?

    • Curator says:

There are 27 outs in 9 innings.
One team must record all 27 outs without allowing any hits, runs, or errors.
      No man can reach base.
One pitcher can have a perfect game with 27 batters up, 27 batters down,
or a team can have a perfect game with more than one pitcher,
as long as they still go 27 up, 27 down.
      Pitch count doesn’t matter.

With a no hitter, you are allowed both walks and errors, but no hits.

What Would You Do In This Perfect Game Situation? I am throwing a perfect game with Roy Halladay against the Chicago Cubs. It is the sixth inning with two outs and the Cubs pinch hit the pitcher for Daryle Ward who is batting .290 with five homers in about forty games.

Halladay is a righty while Ward is a lefty?

    Would you pitch to him?
    NOOOOOO

I’m asking if I should walk him and break up the perfect game?

    • Curator says:

The sixth inning and pitching a perfect game. Are you nuts???
Dont’t care if the Cubs are pitch hitting with Babe Ruth, you do not pitch around or walk any batter if you are pitching a perfect game, even a no-hitter.

  • What Was The Longest In MLB History Where BOTH Pitchers Had A Perfect Game Going? Where BOTH pitchers had a perfect going, What was the longest into a game where that happened? What inning into the game was the first baserunner? How how many minutes or hours? When both pitchers had a perfect game going, when was the latest first baserunner of the game?

    • Curator says:

It could be the game on Sept 9, 1965 between the Cubs and Dodgers.

Bob Hendley walked Lou Johnson to lead off the bottom of the 5th for the games first base runner. Johnson later scored that inning on an error. With two outs in the 7th, Johnson got a double for the only hit of the game. The pitcher for the Dodgers that day was Sandy Koufax who pitched a perfect game. So for the entire game there were only two batters that reached base (and both were Lou Johnson).

edit: On May 2, 1917, Fred Toney and Hippo Vaughn both pitched no-hitters against each other for 9 innings. However there is no play by play account available for the game so I don’t know when the first base runner was.

I did find a game that went 1/2 inning longer than the Koufax/Hendley game. On July 28, 1991, Dennis Martinez of the Expos pitched a perfect game against the Dodgers. LA pitcher Mike Morgan was perfect through five innings before giving up a leadoff single in the top of the 6th to catcher Ron Hassey. Hassey would become the only catcher to catch a perfect game in each league having earlier caught one in the AL for Len Barker.

How Are You Supposed To Get A Perfect Game USA Player Profile? Well, I’m a 2015 grad, and when me and my parents read about the 2015 Grad Showcases and the site being for players going into high school and high school, we thought we’d just setup a profile.

But we never get the email when we request a code.

How do we get a Perfect Game profile?

How Is The Game That Dallas Braden Pitched Considered A “perfect” Game? Alright so I didn’t watch the game last night but on the box score I keep seeing that the A’s committed 1 error. Doesn’t that mean that someone reached base, thus ending the perfect game? Someone please help explain.
