Preakness Stakes is the story of two horses

Sat, 19 May 2012 08:21:35 -0700 BALTIMORE — Few things related to the consumption of sports have changed more in the last decade than their measurability. The fan (or the writer) knows more now about what he has seen than ever before. This is a deliciously good thing, an endlessly clickable supply of statistics to better define performance beyond the final score and the often duplicitous eye test. But in the end, sports are … http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/tim_layden/05/16/preakness-stakes/index.html?xid=si_topstories

Does Anyone Know What I Should Wear To The Preakness Stakes This Weekend? I’m an 18 year old girl, and I’m going to be sitting in the International Pavilion, which I know is really upscale, but I’m just not sure if it’s Kentucky Derby-level intense.

Is This The First Time The U.S. Department Of Justice Confirmed The Right To Record Police Actions? The U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division has urged a federal court to side with a Howard County man in a lawsuit over his cellphone being seized by Baltimore police at the Preakness Stakes after he filmed officers making an arrest.

The federal attorneys say the lawsuit “presents constitutional questions of great moment in this digital age.” They asked U.S. District Judge Benson Everett Legg to rule that citizens have a right to record police officers and that officers who seize and destroy recordings without a warrant or due process are violating the Fourth and 14th amendments.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland, which is representing the plaintiff, Christopher Sharp, said it believes this is the first time the Department of Justice has weighed in on the topic of recording police.

“The right to record police officers while performing duties in a public place as well as the right to be protected from the warrantless seizure and destruction of those recordings, are not only required by the Constitution,” Justice Department attorneys wrote in a “statement of interest” filed Jan. 10 in the case. “They are consistent with our fundamental notions of liberty, promote the accountability of our governmental officers, and instill public confidence in the police officers who serve us daily.”

Answers 1. D Comma goes first, then the end quotation mark when you’re quoting someone.

      2. A Colons can be used to separate parts of a sentence for a main point.

      3. A When items are in a row always use a FANBOY to separate the last item.

      4. B The sentence is a statement, not a question.

      5. B The person is presently speaking so it is NOT a quote, and a question mark is needed.

      6. D Comma before quotation, and a period goes before the ending quotation mark.

      7. A Comma goes after the introductory statement, and before the FANBOY “so.”

      8. C Semicolen goes after a complete sentence w/ subject & verb, and comma goes after the conjunction “however.”

      9. A Include the entire quoted sentence in two quotation marks, don’t separate sentence with more quote marks.

10.B It’s means It is. Its means that something is being referenced; in this case it’s the factory emissions. So “its” is possessive, and is the correct answer.

Does Anyone Remember Thea Andrews From Espn? Man she was very nice to look at on espn, she served as a hostess on espn shows like cold pizza, espn hollywood, sports and hollywood and the espy red carpet show. she was even a contributor to espn’s horse racing coverage as well for a few years during her time at espn and when horse racing was shown on abc sports as well. she co-host on breakfast at churchill downs the morning show for the kentucky derby and kentucky oaks and the breakfast at pimlico as well the morning program of the preakness stakes. i thought she was a fine hostess on the shows and was a fine interviewer and co-host on it’s horse racing telecasts and got underrated.

    does anyone like her???

    • Curator says:

No not really because when she used to be a sideline reporter for espn college football games she tried to take up as much time as she could. And she was quite annoying I think.
