  • Floyd Mayweather Vs Robert Guerro? Just watched the wiegh in ( live in the uk )

floyd wieghed in at 146 is this an advantage or disadvantage and did you see anything which caught your eye in the wiegh in and ps who do you think is going to win and how do you think they are going to win

At the weigh in, Floyd Mayweather looked to be in much better shape than his opponent(as usual). Robert Guerrero looks alright now but after rehydrating he’s just going to look like a blown up lightweight most likely.

also, I noticed the way they both talked. Floyd Mayweather was talking like he was comfortable, relaxed, and at ease with everything around him. Robert Guerrero sounded just like Victor Ortiz, pumped and excited, thinking he knows how to beat Floyd Mayweather. I think that’s a sign of things to come, when he gets in the ring and finds out it’s a lot harder than he thought and then cracks under the pressure.

  • Final Word On Mayweather Vs Guerrero? This is going to be a much better fight than a lot of people are thinking.
Mayweather 43-0 the biggest name in the game the biggest money maker, has fought everyone that really wanted to fight him . Floyd is now 36 years old and in boxing that is like dog years 252 years old.Lets go back a little to the Marquez fight . Floyd came into that fight over weight and would not take it off so he would come into the fight a bigger man he had to pay Marquez 600.000.00 for the extra weight and he was glad to do it. It paid off because Marquez was getting to Floyd but he could not hurt him . Floyd gave him a boxing lesson but if you looked close Marquez was not that far out the fight. Then there was the Cotto fight Floyd him self made a lot of comments about how good of a fighter Cotto was in fact it has made Floyd change trainers .Floyd Jr. has not had his dad in his corner in 13 years . This tells me Floyd is worried about this fight he keeps saying he can’t make the same mistakes in this fight . What no man can see until it is to late is the passage of time. Time has caught Floyd yes he is still the most skilled fighter in the game yes he is still the fastest fighter in the world and he is one of the strongest in the game. The biggest advantage Floyd has over everyone he has faced is the fact that he is smarter than everyone else. Has the time in jail hurt him yes ask anyone who has been in jail and they will tell you that jail takes something away from your body and mind. Floyd only fights once a year and you don’t get better by not fighting . Is Floyd still hungry you have to be hungry to box Floyd is a very rich person is he still willing to take the punishment after all these years? The moment wont get to Floyd he has been here many times .Floyd said his uncle over trained him in the Cotto fight that’s why he fired him .Will having his father in his corner create confusion ?

Robert Guerrero 31-1 came back and destroyed the only guy to beat him . Guerrero has been on a roll in his last fight he beat the favorite Berto by staying on top of him .Guerrero is not the most skilled fighter in the world he makes up for the lack of skill with aggression. The biggest thing Guerrero has going for him is he believes he can beat Floyd which is a big plus in his favor. Guerrero is 30 years old so he will have youth on his side . Will youth, aggression, and motivation to be the first fighter to beat Floyd be enough ? Berto is not Floyd Mayweather.

This is going to be one hell of a fight but in the end Floyd will win by knock out some time after the 7th round.

I agree that Floyd’s aging is starting to become visible, but I don’t think it’s that dramatic and may be simply a rationalization by many to justify spending $60 on a ppv (plus countless more on food & booze). Something tells me there was concern with Roger Mayweather being capable of fulfilling duties as a head trainer for this fight and I would wager that it’s a health or criminal issue rather than a need to change voices/strategy because this isn’t the 1st time Floyd Sr. has needed to step in for Roger and he’s been part of the strategy confirmation team during most of this period. In other words the differences between Floyd Sr. & Roger are at the fringes and even if they weren’t Floyd Jr. has had that in his ear this whole time anyway. The only thing I question about Floyd is his decision to fight at 147 this late in the game when it would be far easier on his body to simply campaign at 154 and try to sneak in a middleweight title before his curtains drop.

I don’t think this fight will be all that close, despite that Floyd’s decreasing ring movement may provide some opportunities to land a few shots. However, Floyd mastered the technique of throwing lead rights long ago and that may be something he brings off the shelf to keep Guerro in check for an easy bout.

  • Did You Know Robert Guerrero Dad Rubin Was A Pro Fighter? Rubin Guerrero ring record is 0-7 being knocked out 6 times lol . This is the same guy challenging Floyd Sr . to a fight every time a camera is on him. 0-7 come on pops. Danny Garcia father never fought and he is always jumping up in some ones face.I can respect the Passions and the father, and son thing but please let the fighters ,do the talking, and fighting.
I make this up go to Eastside boxing in Mexico these guy have a lot of fights that are not recorded. I have fights that are not recorded and I fought in the US. He did have 7 fights and he lost all of them.

    • Curator says:

Whether he was or he was not, he hasn’t earned the right to talk shit on any fighter even if that fighter was a convicted so-called domestic offender as Mike Tyson and many others were. So called woman beating is viewed differently from culture to culture. Latins are also known so-called women beaters, you know but that does not add or deduct from their machismo or necessarily reflect on their sense of morality. So called domestic offenses including so-called woman beating should be viewed in their context from culture to culture.

Boxing: Are Boxing Fans Being Hyprocritical In Their Criticism Of Fighters Moving Up In Weight? Specifically, I see a lot of criticism of Adrien Broner for moving up to 147 and skipping guys at 140 to fight for Malinaggi’s title… But I never have heard one person criticize Robert Guerrero for doing the same thing to fight for Berto’s title and now Mayweather…
    Is the hypocrisy?

    • Curator says:

Robert Guerrero moved passed the Jr. Welterweight division and faced Seluck Aydin and Andre Berto two very tough Welterweight contenders. Guerrero wasn’t handed a fight with Mayweather on a silver platter he worked for it.

With Adrien Broner I get the feeling that he’s taking this opportunity to “cherry pick” a fight with someone who’s for the most part considered the weaker champion and that’s what I don’t like. If Broner moved to Welterweight and faced Andre Berto, Victor Ortiz, Devon Alexander, or even a Kell Brook I’d understand the move, but he’s skipping a weight class to capture a scrap belt.

We have to look at for what it is Adrian Broner is a skilled fighter but he’s skipping a division filled with talent to face the weakest Welterweight title holder. Guys have been beating down the door to face Paul Malignaggi. Shane Mosley admitted he didn’t have it anymore after losing to Saul Alvarez is now magically making an attempt at face Malignaggi once he gets a belt…that should say something.
