Help On My Newspaper Article? D;? I have to write a newspaper article on a tsunami and earthquake that happens in B.C . This is what i have so far:

Rockies get rocked by massive earthquake
    Aftermath and well as damages

Local people in British Columbia are outraged by the amount of preparation that their government takes when it comes to natural disasters. Before the locals could have cared less. However a tragedy has caused them to rethink the whole situation.

Cars, ships and buildings were swept away by a barrier of water after the 7.5-magnitude tremor, which struck about 400km east off the coast of Bella Bell. Hundreds of people are feared deceased and thousands wounded after a powerful 7.5 earthquake struck the coasts of British Columbia.

April 21, 2012 started out as any other day in British Colombia. The fog was settling over the mountains and there was a crisp breeze about. However, around 4:45am the fate of thousands of civilians changed.

“The whole house moved around like it was made out of jello, my lighting shook above me and I heard glass break in the kitchen, my reaction was to hide under the kitchen table!” –Kathy McLean

However at 5:30am, just as Kathy and the rest of the coast of British Columbia thought their fear was over, the second phase of the earthquake started.

“I stepped outside of my house to get a glimpse of the damage done. However, as I opened the door I noticed my feet got soaked. Then I saw it in the distance.” –Bob Newton

A tsunami had formed not that far from the coast, and was moving at a rapid speed, reaching a startling 30 feet off ground level. The tsunami started its destruction on the coasts of Bella Bella, that’s where the most destructive damage took place. Over 100 bodies already found, 450 injured and 200 more missing although officials are afraid that the toll will rise, and a total of $120,000 in destruction, more often than not it was houses and local shops submerged completely. After, the tsunami had ripped through Bella Bella, it headed towards Shearwater and King Island. Where it collected more bodies and debris and is now pushing them in towards Hagensborg.

The Tsunami effected many people, however generally the children. As of now, more than 150 children are without a home and have been placed into foster care homes. Five year old Sophie Bax (as seen to the left) is one of the very many unfortunate children who suffered through very painful surgeries.

    I still have to include:
    studies of the earthquake
and how the government fails in preparation

also: any ways i could improve? is it bad for grade 9. academic geo?
