Where Does Roy Oswalt Sign And Why? To me, he is almost certainly going to a team that will be in the playoff run come September. Also, in my opinion he will lean to a NL team, but I think Texas is a possibility (best place for him to win a ring). It also wouldn’t shock me to see him go to an AL team though. I don’t see him going back to Philadelphia (too many problems there).

Here are a few teams why IMO, he is most likely to go to:

    LA Dodgers
    St. Louis
    Texas
Boston (they will want him, but they will have to do a superb job to persuade Oswalt to go there).
    Toronto

Texas, because they just lost Neftali Feliz for an extended amount of time, Texas is also close to his home in Mississippi which is also why he enjoyed playing in Houston. He said he definitely wants to go on a team looking for a deep play off run. I’ve also heard Atlanta as possibly signing him since Mike Minor has struggled this year, and Georgia is relatively close to Mississippi.

  • Rangers Are Likely To Sign Roy Oswalt. Thoughts? I like it. Feliz is only on the 15 day-DL, but it has been rumored that he could be out for longer. Obviously Oswalt can’t come in immeidately an be anything but a long-reliever, but if we do have anohter significant injury to our pitching staff, Oswalt will be there to help it.

    • Curator says:

Smart move. Rangers have been smashing here lately and bringing in a experienced pitcher would help them in the playoffs. The rangers are always making smart moves that’s why they have been to the world series the past 2 years

    • Curator says:

Considering he hasn’t pitched in almost a year, I’d sign him if he gave me a huge discount and then hope that he comes close to performing as well as he did prior to last year. Texas has a strong rotation so Oswalt might not be much more than insurance, and he may not want to play there for that reason.
The bottom line is that if and when he finally does sign, he’s going to make some GM look incredibly smart or really, really stupid.

    • Curator says:

Roy Halladay. And here are the reasons why

Halladay has two Cy Youngs. Oswalt has none.
Halladay has a no-hitter and a perfect game. Oswalt has neither.
Halladay has more career wins, lower WHIP, and more strikeouts.
Halladay has made 9 All-Star Games. Oswalt has made three.

      And those are my reasons
