The public on sequestration: It's a problem, just not my problem

1 March 2013 | 6:51 pm The threat of sequestration has given way to the reality of sequestration, with the deep, across-the-board federal spending cuts set to kick in beginning today . • 2nd Attempt: Libs, Was Obama Telling The Truth About Capitol Hill Janitors Losing Their Jobs? It’s pretty easy Libs.

    Y E S or N O

“Starting tomorrow everybody here, all the folks who are cleaning the floors at the Capitol. Now that Congress has left, somebody’s going to be vacuuming and cleaning those floors and throwing out the garbage. They’re going to have less pay. The janitors, the security guards, they just got a pay cut, and they’ve got to figure out how to manage that. That’s real.” – Barack Obama

Stephen T. Ayers, the architect of the Capitol:
“We do not anticipate furloughs for AOC employees as a result of Sequestration.”
btw.. Obama went golfing with Tiger Woods last weekend. Cost of over 1 Million
@Falstaff LOL. .no not deleted. .Just never got an answer. Just like you

  • RJC says:

Is It True We Could Have Avoided The Credit Down Grade And Sequestration If? The democrats would have considered any of the economic bills presented by the republicans over the past 5 years?

  • Bryson says:

Did The Sequestration Really Screw Any Of The Political People Over At All? I read that they only brought it up in the first place to force the other side into negotiating. The sides did not negotiate though, and a lot of funding was cut. Funding wa NOT cut on congressional salaries though. Did it really screw anybody over besides the poorest people in our society? What was cut anyway?

    • Curator says:

      There was no funding cuts

      it cuts future spending additions

by 1 trillion but it was going to grow to 9 trillion

but now its 8 trillion, so there wasn’t any real cuts, just cuts to future additional spending

    • Curator says:

They can fail as much budget as they want or pass as much budgets as needed, the bottom line is there are no jobs and many remain chronically unemployed.

i don’t think the unemployed or financially struggling individuals on main street really care at all what the congress or Obama is doing with budgets or sequestration. The sequestration has been hitting many ordinary folks on a daily basis for the past 4 years. And for Obama this is fresh news?

  • Pork Barrel Projects And Other Government Waste.? It’s my understanding that the sequestration fiasco is predicated on something like the need to reduce government spending by some 2.4% Surely there’s considerably more than 2.4% in the current budget earmarked for pork barrel projects…like studying how the actions of fish are related to democracy, ad nauseum. Am I right or wrong?
