Did You Like NBC’s The Sound Of Music Overall? I thought it was okay overall.
I know it was not based on the movie, it was just weird seeing different songs and scenes that I was used to in the movie 🙂

Acoustic Drums Or Electric Drums? I really want to learn the drums, I actually have wanted to learn them since before I even considered guitar(I have been playing guitar for at least 5 years). So now I have my chance, I have the motivation, time, and resources to teach myself how to play them, and I can get a drum kit for my birthday.

But, I ran into a problem. I found the perfect acoustic drum kit for me, but my mom decided to ask my uncle about it(he is really good with instruments), and he suggested getting an E-kit instead, and even offered to help pay. I admit that is nice to offer to help pay, but I just don’t think I would be able to play an E-kit.

I love acoustic instruments, for that clean sound, and they also sound really good in live performances, which I am planning on doing more often. I am okay with electric instruments, but they are not my first choice and I just don’t feel the same for example when I pick up an electric guitar, I would rather play my acoustic because it feels better in my hands, and sounds better to me.

If it helps, my main genres of music I work on are Pop, Hip-hop, and Country, but I like to be versatile because I want to maybe be a session musician.

I can see what my uncle probably means, an E-kit would take up less space, wouldn’t be as loud, and would be better for recording. But, I had pretty much already seen ways around all of those problems.

I have wanted to rearrange my room for months now, so I was going to after Christmas anyways. The noise could be countered by like getting the noise dampener things and using those most of the time, then having something like between 11am and 2pm I could take off the dampeners, not that people have complained about noise in years(my dad and brothers play bagpipes, and I used to use a really loud amp for guitar). For recording, that one is a bit hard, but I was planning on either getting actual studio time after I get a job, or buying more mics after I get a job(I just need my drivers license before I can get a job).

It also sounds better to have an Acoustic kit because they are used more in live stuff, and I heard that if you use an E-kit you will have trouble with playing an Acoustic, and also it will be hard for bands, especially in my area. In my area, the potential bands I have tried joining as a guitarist, had the idea that we could not use anything electric for the drums, in fact, one band didn’t even like the idea of having the lead guitarist play the electric guitar(I am a rhythm guitarist but play lead sometimes).

    So, any ideas on this?

(Posting this here for the second time because I just remembered that performing arts section usually takes a while to get answers, and I need an answer by morning)

Can Security Give Me A Ticket? So I was at a fry’s super market and they have a security in the plaza, I was semi-bumping my sound system and the security came and told me to turn it down, so I was like yea whatever, and turned it back up like 2 minutes later. As I was leaving I see him standing behind my car with a little notebook I think or phone, can this security give me a ticket. If so where is the evidence that I was playing the music loud.

What Happend To My Music On ITunes?!? So, a lot of my music consists of music that I downloaded from cd’s. One day after I previously used iTunes the night before to add artwork for my albums since they don’t show up when I download cd’s, I was listening to music when multiple songs were “playing” but with no sound or sometimes would start in the middle of a song. I noticed this with many of my songs. I cannot re-download the cd’s because I don’t own them, I borrowed them. I then tried to play those songs from the iTunes on my computer (Windows 8; iTunes 11) and it would simply skip to the next song as if the content wasn’t even there. Please help! If you need more info then ask me.

USB Toggleable-Surround Sound Close-ended Off-board Headphones? I doubt that it exists. This question is going to sound like an advertisement but I really want to explain why I like this headset and that only thing that’s missing is it being very loose and not cozy (it kind of just sits on my head and only cups my ears instead of surrounding them), as well as not being close-ended (sound-isolating). The headset that I have right now is the Razer Megalodon. It’s 7.1. What’s cool about it is that it is USB (digital), so it has a little offboard audio control soundcard that doesn’t depend on the computer for a separate soundcard. The little control box lets you adjust audio volume in different speakers, turn surround sound on and off so I don’t have to switch headphone/headsets, and adjust mic options (I have a desktop mic now so I don’t need it to have a mic). It has everything i need, except it has a massive audio leak that lets people that are close to me hear my rather loud audio playback, mostly when listening to music, or in a skype call and I don’t want them hearing voice feedback or sometimes even game audio.

There are plenty of headphones/headsets out there that are surround-sound and have epic audio quality, but are unfortunately analog, so they depend on a soundcard that supports surround-sound. I can’t get a new soundcard. It’s that simple.

So, since I’m extremely picky with the headphones that I want, I am really doubting that there are any of this caliber that exist. I’ve been looking into methods of increasing padding in that headset I have so that it fits better, but even when I cover up the raw speakers with my hand firmly, the thin plastic that isn’t covered up on the back still leaks sound through itself.

So, once again, the main things that I want these new headphones/headset (it will have to be a headset if there are no headphone versions available) to have is:

    -Toggleable surround-sound
-Off-board soundcard for maximum audio quality
-Close-endedness (sound isolating, no audio leakage)
-USB oriented, or analog with some magic way of getting surroundsound without a soundcard on
    the motherboard

I know this is very picky, so other methods of getting around the audio leakage/looseness problem is much obliged.
