Whose The Best In The 11:30pm Late Night Talk Shows? Whose Overrated? And How Will Stephen Colbert Do As Letterman’s Replacement? Personally, I think Letterman is overrated and he hasn’t been that interesting in many, many years. HIs stuff is just so stale when you compare him to all there is to watch at 11:00pm and 11:30.

Leno was better far better than Jimmy Fallon is.

I think Colbert is going to do great.

    Your thoughts?

Who Should Replace David Letterman? Since he announced his retirement a few short days ago, there has been speculation about his replacement. Obviously, this will be a huge loss for television. Letterman was such an innovator and set the tone for how late night television is today. I still think he’s funny but I think maybe it is time to try something else. Personally, I like all of the hosts. Kimmel, Fallon, Conan, Craig Ferguson. I’ve seen a bunch of replacement possibilities, and I disagree with a lot of them. People have said celebrities, such as Amy Poehler, Ellen DeGeneres, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler, Louis C.K. to host a late night show on CBS. Another possibility, is to have Conan leave TBS, Kimmel leave ABC, or have Craig Ferguson move to 11:30. Craig is too quirky in my opinion for 11:30. Kimmel has shown his loyalty to ABC, and if he moves to CBS…wouldn’t they need to replace him with someone on ABC? I think Conan could maybe move to CBS, but honestly, he seems happy on TBS. My prediction is Joel McHale. He’s a young, fresh talent and even though he’s hosting The Soup on E! (which has been on for about 10 years) and Community on NBC (which has been on for about 5 or 6 years, they keep saying that show is going to get cancelled.) I think he’d be a great replacement for David Letterman. What do you think? I’d love to hear your opinion.

I think McHale would be an interesting opition. He is funny and seems like a nice guy. He is a guy that loves entertainment and television celebrities. He is a well known guy that people like and know who he is. However I don’t think he will take over. He is busy doing other stuff.
I personally do not like Chelsea Handler. I do not think she is that funny. The best option to me is Conan but I for some reason I do not see him leaving TBS.
I think Amy Poelar or Tina Fey would be an interesting choice primarily because they are women. I am not saying that women are not funny or should not be in the comedy industry but I am saying that Late Night hosts have been all men and sometimes women are viewed as not that funny. However Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are very funny women and I think could do a good job hosting Late Night.
I think Louis CK would be a good choice. He is a great talker. What I mean is his delivery and story telling of jokes is great. I also think his improv skills will work nicely too when working with guests.
I think one guy that might be an interesting choice would be Steve Carrel. He is a hilarious guy and very famous. In my opinion, I think he would be an okay replacement. However, he just got picked to host a funny game show and he does movies so it seems unlikely.
Will Ferrell is another guy who I would absolutely love to see. But like Carrel, he is too famous and busy doing other things.
I like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert but I think they will stay at Comedy Central. If I remember correctly, Stewart had a chance to do Late Night but turned it down so I think he will stay.
I do not watch Ferguson a lot so I don’t know how great of a candidate he is but it would be nice for him because he is on so late at night that he probably would love to be on earlier to get more audineces.
I think a guy that would be great would be Jim Gaffigan. I know it is unlikely because he is doing more standup and he probably has not interest but I think it would be interesting. He is friendly and loves comedy. I have seen interviews and he loves to talk about comedy so I think he would be interesting when interviewing comedians. However I think he would not be great at interviewing other celebrities so I highly doubt he is a candidate.
There is always Jay Leno. He recently retired and it would not be the first time he leaves and returns.

  • K.V. Lady says:

When Does A Celebrity Crush Become Unhealthy Or Obsessive? Okay, so I’m a happily married woman in my late 30’s, and I’ve become absolutely obsessed with Stephen Colbert. I know there’s nothing wrong with having a crush on a celebrity, even if you and the celebrity are both married, but sometimes I wonder if my fascination with Colbert has crossed from simply being a fan to being obsessed with him to the degree that it is unhealthy.

I still love my husband, and I would never sleep with Colbert even if I had the chance. As wonderful as Colbert is, it’s not worth ruining my marriage or his. Still, I find myself thinking about him quite often, even when I shouldn’t be. Not only do I watch his show every night that it’s on TV, but I also spend lots of time watching YouTube videos of him and reading articles about him. I have even made friends on social media who are also obsessed with Colbert, and I spend lots of time chatting with them about him. Sometimes we talk about other things as well; it’s not limited to him.

I am also an author, and my dream is to be on The Colbert Report to promote my book. I wrote to him several times but I never heard back and I was really disappointed, but I understand that life must go on. Still, I feel that I waste too much time fangirling about him and I wonder if it’s weird for a married woman of my age to be obsessed with a celebrity to the level that I am.

Also, one reason why I love him is because he’s a comedian and he makes me laugh which makes me a happier person.

    • Curator says:

When all your doing is spending all your time thinking about them, it interferes with your work/school and personal life. And to where your actually thinking your going to date/marry and have a chance with this person.

It doesn’t seem to me your crush is unhealthy as you still love your husband and would never leave him for this crush even if you have the chance. Doesn’t seem to be interfering with your life.

But if you think it;s getting too obsessive them try not to do things that involve your crush for a while.
