    Flossie: Is Tropical Storm The Same As Tropical Cyclone? Hi. I’m from Australia and am currently in Honolulu and there is a watch for tropical storm Flossie. We don’t have tropical storms but we do have cyclones. Are these the same? I’m assuming:
    Tropical storm = cyclone
    Hurricane = typhoon
    So are they the aame and is this sort of thing worrying?
    Should we be worried being in a high rise during something like this?

    Where Is Hurricane Flossie Heading? Last time I saw the news, it said that the hurricane barely brushed past Hawaii.
    What are the chances of it heading toward California?

    Has the hurricane dissipated?

      Its now a tropical storm

      itll probably go farther west, and will gradually curve northwest then curve to the east in the northpacific south of alaska, and bring some clouds maybe rain to northern canada.

      usually pacific storms will weaken and their remnants will go in this direction. sometimes the energy associated travels around the northern hemisphere and gets cought up in weather systems in europe and Siberia
