Getting Into University Of Michigan? I just finished my sophomore year and I am starting to look at colleges a little more seriously. So what do you think my chances of getting into Michigan would be?

    -3.94 GPA
-AP US History and honors classes (next year AP Gov)
-Next year second semester and senior year I will be taking 2 college classes each semester and those classes will affect my GPA so it might lower a little bit
    -Top 10% in my class
-26 ACT (24 English, 25 Science and Reading, 29 Math) I want to get a 30 by senior year
-I would want to go into the business school there for Accounting
    -I live in Iowa
-2 time letterwinner in cross country (fresh and soph). 1 time in track (soph).
-In DECA (business club) and next year I will be in math club as well.

You Realize The Best US States Are Not Too Conservative Nor Too Liberal? Alabama – Not GOOD
NOT a very promising state for Bleeding Hearts and Unions to have a voice

    Alaska – Not GOOD
Not a very promising state for Bleeding Hearts and Unions to have a voice

    Arizona – Not GOOD
Not a very promising state for Bleeding Hearts and Unions to have a voice

    Arkansas – Not GOOD
Not a very promising state for Bleeding Hearts and Unions to have a voice

    California – Not GOOD
Too many Unions and Bleeding Hearts and fruits and nuts

    Colorado – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Very animal-friendly, great progressive towns like Boulder…. state tends to lean Republican overall

    Connecticut – Not GOOD
Too Liberal and too expensive to do business except for the big wigs

    Delaware – Not GOOD
Too Liberal (sadly used to be a great place for corporate headquartering because of Chapter 11 Leniency laws “quasi Re-organizing” but it’s losing that reputation… has grown TOO Left of Center

DC – Not GOOD for the Private Sector…..Money is sucked in from everyone else’s hard earned sweat and labor and then subsidizes the quality of life…..

Florida – (The state is really 2 separate states)
South Florida (South of Orlando) – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Conservative stronghold Naples or you CAN choooose more development live in Palm Beach or Broward

    North Florida – Not GOOD
Not a promising place for Unions or Bleeding Hearts

    Georgia – Not GOOD
Not a promising place for Unions or Bleeding Hearts (except for Athens)

    Hawaii – Not GOOD
    Not good for Conservative voice

    Idaho – Not GOOD
Not good for the Liberal voice (also not Hayden lake was Neo-Nazi HQ for a long time

    Illinois – Not GOOD
    VERY Corrupt Democra& politics

    Indiana – Not GOOD
Too set in its Conservative ways and quality of life needs improvement (needs more Liberalism actually)

    Iowa – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
East Iowa is more enlightened than West Iowa…. good farm state… well disciplined cost efficient state….Norwegian work ethic…. compassionate…. good choice for a Caucus State.

    Kansas – Not GOOD
Does not have a very enlightened Liberal element to balance the Conservative populous

    Kentucky – Not GOOD
Does not have a very enlightened outside the box Liberal element…hence not a very dynamic state…set in old ways

    Louisiana – Not GOOD
Does not incorporate its faction groups well enough into a solidly viable state… you have a very Conservative un-enlightened bulk of the state with an outcast city of New Orleans which is too much the other way

    Maine – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Northern Maine is Conservative and affordable, Southern part of the state has its Liberal city of Portland…..both co-exist and Maine citizens have choice within the state of their quality of life…and great natural beauty…

    Maryland – Not GOOD
Too Progressive and influenced by Government institutions in DC and same with Baltimore. Not good for opening a family business… taxes too high

    Massachusetts – Not GOOD
Often nicknamed Taxachusetts for a reason

    Michigan – Not GOOD
    Union Infested

    Minnesota – Not GOOD
Does not accomodate enough to the Conservative base

    Mississippi – Not GOOD
Does not enlighten itself enough with a Liberal agenda to improve quality of life (see you need balance)

    Missouri – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Heart of America… good Liberal Iowa-influenced North… Conservative voice off the other end of the state.

    Montanta – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Conservative-minded with some unique enlightened elements of the Liberal direction (i.e. Only state where an employee needs a legitimate reason to be let go….my understanding is you can still be let go if the company purges a whole group due to dwindling revenues…..but you can’t be fired on an individual basis for absolutely no reason at all unless you did something legit [i.e. showing up late or poor performance review.) Also Missoula is pretty enlightened.
    Nebraska – Not GOOD
    Not a sufficient Liberal base

    Nevada – Not GOOD
    Not a sufficient Liberal populous

New Hampshire – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
This the second caucus state… best place to do business in New England… yet still the quality of life of the Liberal elements of the Northeast…. but with No sales tax and very business-friendly for anywhere in the Northeast

    New Jersey – Not GOOD
Too uninviting to the Conservative base

New Mexico – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Takes after Colorado with its balanced mix of Conservative voice and Liberal voice.

New York State – Not GOOD!
Very very very very Expensive for doing business…lack of Conservative pragmatism

    North Carolina – Not GOOD!
Need to mention there are Liberal places like Chapel Hill and Asheville… but OVERWHELMINGLY unbalanced in favor of an unquestionably Conservative apparatus evidenced by the overwhelming ban in Same Sex Marriages.

North Dakota – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Generally Conservative but in a unique way, influenced b
North Dakota – GOOD BALANCED STATE!
Generally Conservative but in a unique way, influenced by fine arts and Liberal Scandinavian culture to its East “Fargo Moorehead”, Mennonite influence and arts in Grand Forks and influenced by Canadian culture to its north

    Need to wrap things up
Ohio – Not Good, too much polarization between Liberal/Conservative to be viable to either group
    Oklahoma – Too Conservative
Oregon – GOOD BALANCED STATE! East Oregon has the Conservative part.
Pennsylvania – Same story as Ohio, NOT GOOD for the same reason
    Rhode Island – Too Liberal
    South Carolina – Too Conservative
    South Dakota – Too Conservative
    Tennessee – Too Conservative
    Texas – Too Conservative
    Utah – Too Conservative
    Vermont – Too Liberal

Virginia – Same story as Pennsylvania and Ohio… Northern VA is Govt zone… does not adhere to statehood of Virginia or should I say “commonwealth of VA”, but the rest is too Conservative with no room for Liberal voice…. so segragted

    Washi
Virginia – Same story as Pennsylvania and Ohio… Northern VA is Govt zone… does not adhere to statehood of Virginia or should I say “commonwealth of VA”, but the rest is too Conservative with no room for Liberal voice…. so segragted

Washington State – GOOD BALANCED STATE! Same story as Oregon.

    West Virginia – Too Conservative

Wisconsin – Too Divided… similar to the case of Ohio and Pennsylvania …too polarized… note Governor and Union issue

    Wyoming – Too Conservative

So here we have it, Best BALANCED STATES

    Colorado
    Florida (South Florida only)
    Iowa
    Maine
    Missouri
    Montana
    New Hampshire
    New Mexico
    North Dakota
    Oregon
    Washington

Yeah, that is why we need a balance government in DC. We had that from during Clinton’s years and most of GW Bush years. As soon as we put radical democrats in congress we went under and became worse with radical Obama. The Tea Party has kind of balanced that a little (them being radicals themselves) now we need a moderate president.

    USS Wisconsin (BB-64) 16 April 1944

    • Curator says:

      1) All of them were laid down BEFORE the attack on Pearl Harbor, the last, USS Wisconsin, was laid down in January 1941, 11 months before the attack.

      2) Battleships are great for fire support.
