How Do I Get Yahoo To Correct Their November Calendar For Veterans Day? I was using the Washington Post Fall TV Guide to send particular program announcements to friends and “Dial One for Vets” on Nov 11 on HBO. Afterward, I tried to include it in my Yahoo Calendar for November 11, but the calendar kept putting it on Monday Nov 10. I looked at a real calendar from N(ational) A(ctive) and R(etired) F(ederal) E(mployees) and Sunday is November 10, not Monday.

  • Why Haven’t We Been Told The Truth? (more Inside)? I’m not really big on politics or anything. Much of it kinda bores me. But within this past week or so I was watching a video and this celebrity mentioned the fact that there have been a number of presidents before our “first” president, George Washington. Now I’m reading an article of who these men were.

Why would they hide this from us? Why is the truth almost ALWAYS swept under the rug?

    Here’s the article I’m reading now: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/582763/posts

Washington Heights Dominicans? Why are the majority of them miserable jerks. In their home country most are awesome human beings, once they move to Washington Heights, they gradually become assholes. They never say thank you, excuse me, I’m sorry. In the supermarkets and stores, the women got nasty attitudes, the old people take your shopping basket without asking you if you are done using it, they almost never say thank you after you hold a door for them. They drive around the neighborhood without any regard or respect for anyone else with their cars or their ridiculous motor bikes. What is wrong with them? Do they lose their manners after being in Wash Heights for a little while? I do not encounter this level of rudeness anywhere else in NYC. There are jerks everywhere but in Wash Heights, being an asshole is their code of honor. I must mention that other races in Wash Heights don’t behave like this. Whites and blacks are much more polite people. I don’t care if this post offends you. I know what I’m talking about. Dominicans elsewhere do not behave like this.

    • Curator says:

Truly, not an etiquette question. The odds of finding someone here who a) knows what you are talking about or b) shares your sentiments are minimal. There are, however, people everywhere who act as you describe. Your best defense is to still use your own manners and go about your day, disregarding others who behave so disgracefully. Focusing on one group’s failings doesn’t really serve a useful purpose.
